Election 2012: The Most Important Issue Award Goes To….

Published December 30, 2011 by blacknright

This is an official blog entry for the YourLocalSecurity.com Blogging Scholarship. If selected, I’ll receive $1000 towards my college expenses in 2012. This scholarship is sponsored by YourLocalSecurity.com

Abortion. That’s right, the most important election issue this cycle is abortion. Readers of my blog will most assuredly go, “Okay, we get it, you are anti-abortion, can you talk about something else already?”  However, abortion continues to top the headlines. This past week we had Rick Perry, a Republican contender for the Presidency, say that he has “transformed” his view on abortion. After watching a pro-life movie in which a woman conceived of rape speaks, he is now saying he is 100% pro-life.  There was also a couple who did an abortion at home and when they couldn’t quite fully kill their child they put the remains under the Christmas tree in a gift box. http://www.fox8.com/news/nationworld/ktla-aborted-fetus,0,250932.story

Much to the chagrin of the fiscal conservatives and zealous pro-choice liberals the issue of abortion is not going away and will have a defining impact on this upcoming election. Especially with Personhood Amendments appearing on ballots throughout the nation, the question of abortion can no longer be ignored. The abortion issue is to this election what slavery was to the 1860 campaign trail. It is now coming to the forefront of our nation’s consciousness. Its importance cannot be  understated because we are talking about human lives here. Regardless of what the pro-choicers would like you to believe the biological debate of when life begins  was settled in the 19th century. The anti-personhood argument is philosophical, political and theological in nature, not scientific therefore has no rational basis to seek a denial of human rights and protection under the law.

With this issue not going away, how could one successfully resolve it? One way is already being done, states are proposing their own Personhood Amendments that would become effective when Roe v. Wade gets overturned. In fact, South Dakota is the only state not to have any abortion clinics within its territory. So we see that it can be done. Education of basic fetalogy and the current stage of the baby have had a profound effect on women obtaining abortions afterwards. Continuing to educate women along with allowing them to see the ultrasound if they so desire, give women all the accurate information they need to make a better choice. Finally, extending the 14th amendment to include the unborn would be the easiest way to make sure that the unborn are given the rights they deserve without having to pass a new amendment which would be time consuming and may not pass the ratification process.

You  may wonder why I did not pick an easy answer like the economy as the most important issue, well because the elimination of 50 million human beings takes precedence but also because it does have a profound effect on the economy. By annihilating 50 million potential workers, we have created the economic dire straits we find ourselves in now. The only addition to the population and henceforth workers has been through immigration-legal and Free screensaverotherwise. We are below replacement levels and we are hemorrhaging not only in the moral sense but in the economic sense as well. Therefore, it is imperative we correct this situation or else we will find ourselves on the road to extinction. At that point the economy won’t mean very much will it?

A Mormon Presidency

Governor Mitt Romney of MA

Mitt Romney, Jon Huntsman, Harry Reid-what do these men have in common, they are all Mormons. However, in my opinion, they do not represent Mormons nor the American people very well, (with the exception of John Huntsman just because I don’t know his views very well) instead they seem more concerned with appeasing the Left instead of doing what is Right. To be fair, people have a right to know how one’s religion will impact the decisions a politician makes. I know I would not go out endorsing a candidate who professed to be a Satanist because those beliefs are incompatible with my notions of liberty and responsibility. [Satanists focus solely on  “freedom” and have little use for responsibility or helping those in need.] So what would a Mormon presidency (by a real Mormon and not one who sets aside their beliefs when convenient.) look like?

1. We are all about “restoring” things. We also have a profound respect for the Constitution of the United States and so would work on restoring the Constitutional republic of this land. Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the Twelve, in February of 1992 wrote about the
“Divinely Inspired Constitution.”

The success of the [Constitutional] convention was attributable in large part to the remarkable intelligence, wisdom, and unselfishness of the delegates. As James Madison wrote in the preface to his notes on the Constitutional Convention:

“There never was an assembly of men, charged with a great and arduous trust, who were more pure in their motives, or more exclusively or anxiously devoted to the object committed to them.”4 Truly, the U.S. Constitution was established “by the hands of wise men whom [the Lord] raised up unto this very purpose.” (D&C 101:80.).

By the same token, we are not blinded by such devotion that we see the Constitution as a perfect document in need of no change whatsoever as illustrated by this quote by Reuben J. Clark, “who referred to the Constitution as “part of my religion,”6 also said that it was not part of his belief or the doctrine of the Church that the Constitution was a “fully grown document.” “On the contrary,” he said, “We believe it must grow and develop to meet the changing needs of an advancing world.”7Even when changes are clearly needed as they were in the days of slavery and Jim Crow laws one does not need to change the totality of the document or the central message of the Constitution to do so. These things can remain affixed and should be considered the starting point of which to derive more just laws.
By having a Mormon in the White House, you would have someone with a great love for the U.S. Constitution and would not seek out to destroy it. People’s liberties would be far more protected with a Mormon in the office than they have been with our current Muslim president. There would be no stomping over the rights of the people by executive order with a Mormon in office.

 2. Families would be made a priority. An important part of the Plan of Salvation involves the creation and the maintaining of families, laws that hinder that would not be allowed to stand. As we have seen through Proposition 8, Mormons are willing to stand up for traditional marriage publicly as well as privately. “The Family: A Proclamation to the World” by Gordon B. Hinckley had this to say about the importance of family, especially both mothers and fathers:

The first commandment that God gave to Adam and Eve pertained to their potential for parenthood as husband and wife. We declare that God’s commandment for His children to multiply and replenish the earth remains in force. We further declare that God has commanded that the sacred powers of procreation are to be employed only between man and woman, lawfully wedded as husband and wife.

We declare the means by which mortal life is created to be divinely appointed. We affirm the sanctity of life and of its importance in God’s eternal plan.

It is because families are eternal that we value them above all else except God. We spend our time in temples connecting family members one to another. We seek out the past with full knowledge that our salvation is very much dependent on the salvation of our ancestors. Like the Marines, we leave no man behind. With a Mormon in the office of the President, you would see the uplifting of families not the tearing down.

3. Charity. While most people associate charity with the giving of money to the poor and/or needy, ask any Mormon and they will tell you that true charity is the pure love of Christ. We believe we are to be charitable to others in order to exemplify that pure love of Christ that was freely given to all when he was on Earth. As a member of the church, we are called to be charitable and we give not only to the Church’s humanitarian aid but to other charities as well. However, anyone can give money. What is more important is giving time. If you were in the hospital and someone sent you some money while you were in there-would that do you any good? Probably not, you are confined to a hospital bed what are you going to do with money? However, if someone came in to visit you, talked to you, helped you eat if you were unable to do it yourself, wouldn’t that be far more charitable? When you left the hospital what would you remember the money you received or the visit? When people equate charity with money it totally undermines and undervalues the true meaning of charity. With a Mormon in the presidency there would be more of a focus on charity, helping those in need in order so they can become self-reliant. The Economist wrote an article dealing the LDS Welfare system, here is the link for the article, http://www.economist.com/node/988818

It concludes by saying: The Mormon welfare system shows how comprehensive church-run social services can be. Unfortunately, it does not support Mr Bush’s belief that federal tax breaks will unleash a wave of such projects. When the president announced his programme, the church authorities were polite, wished him well—and said they wanted nothing to do with it. The system runs because Mormons give up time and money. Tax breaks will make no difference to that—but they may, the church fears, enmesh the welfare system in a tangle of government restrictions.

A Mormon president would revamp the welfare system in this country and would help people become more self-reliant. A Mormon president would understand it would take more than money to solve problems  especially when it comes to those who find themselves in some serious dire straits. The mission of the LDS church is four-fold

1) Perfect the Saints 2) Redeem the Dead 3) Proclaim the Gospel and 4) Help the poor and needy. Because this is seen as our mission, a Mormon president would not shirk from it and would help devise a welfare plan in such a way that it would actually benefit those who needed it and not continue to enable their dependency.

These are just a few of the things that would take place in a Mormon presidency and from what I can see this country would be better off under a Mormon president than it has been under any other for a long while now. The only “Mormon Question” I see is, “Why wouldn’t you have a Mormon president?” And while I truly do wish to have a Mormon president, I do not believe Mitt Romney is that candidate. Personally, I think Dena Leichnitz would be a much better pick. LOL

Unhappy Voters, Happy Country?

With the growing discontent among voters, especially with the two party system that seems to mirror each other, how can we turn that around and become a happy country? First of all, what are we? Are we happy, upset, discontent, and just out all angry? What is the pulse of the American voter

While I am not a liberal and don’t go around speaking for everybody, I will say the growing frustration among the American populus doesn’t have to be a bad thing. It can actually be a catalyst to making improvements within our country. Some of the improvements I would like to see are the following.

1) Education becoming more valued. I think Americans take their education for granted. It is time we start realizing while we were being apathetic, our children were being dumbed down. We need to empower parents (after we educate–not indoctrinate–them, of course) to make decisions regarding their child’s future. By letting the state have control over where our children go to school, what they learn and how rapidly they can advance, we have severely damaged our children.  There needs to be more done in the way of school choice. Whether it is vouchers, promotion of homeschooling and creating a competitive environment in which schools compete for students to better serve the children, we need to stop looking to the same old liberal doctrine that has created this mess to begin with. We need to eliminate the Department of Education and get the federal government out of the education business. At least in terms of K-12, for postsecondary colleges we need to do better to make sure people are learning the courses they need to be gainfully employed. We need to abolish the No Child Left Behind Act and really get together on a local level to get rid of bad teachers and court good ones.

2.  We need to protect human life from conception to natural death. Nothing we can do is more important than this. If we don’t protect life at all stages, it is up for grabs at any stage. By making sure this fundamental right is granted and that all people have the right to be born, we secure the rest of our rights as well. There can be no rights without the right to life. We must continually press on and fight for the rights of the unborn, disabled and elderly who are often the target of a hateful Leftist regime who sees no innate value in their lives. This is not a political issue, it is a human issue and anyone who cannot understand that doesn’t deserve to be called a human being since they see fit to strip that title from others.

3) We need to secure marriage.  Marriage, in and of itself, is very equitable. It says one man HAS to marry one woman and both parties are entitled to the full rights and benefits of such union. There is no discrimination in marriage as it currently stands. In fact, it is the gay community who wishes to discriminate and make marriage unequal and who promote inequality, not equality. We need to secure marriage because it offers the best hope to families. It is the safest place for women and children. By working to make sure marriage stands between one man and one woman we are actually producing a benefit to everyone in society, even gays, for when societies are stable and not fraught with contention, everyone is more free.

These are the things that inspire me to continue to speak out and try to make a difference. We each need to recognize if there are overwhelming ills in our society, it is because we have allowed them to go unchecked and have neglected our responsibility to correct them. Right now, everyone seems to be divided and fighting amongst themselves. However, if we are wise we can use that unhappiness we feel to motivate us into action and to help move America forward. We  need not settle for what the Republicans and Democrats says are the best and the brightest. The time has come to make a difference. The way you do that is by starting small. Get involved in your local community by volunteering at schools, churches, and local neighborhood councils. You can write letters to your representatives, better yet if their office is near you, drop in for a visit. You can sign petitions or do a 101 other things that will make an impact on your life.  I think we are at this point, where people are seeking out ways to make this a happy country once again. If enough people get involved and start being of service, we won’t need the politician’s paltry band-aids for our ills, for we will have the medicine that can save our lives. That medicine is called Unity. You know as in the UNITED States of America!

Colin Powell Hires Illegal Immigrants

Colin Powell, Secretary of State.

I have never liked Colin Powell but I like him less as a conservative than I ever did as a liberal. It is this kind of weak-kneed liberal hogwash why we are in the mess we are in. It is disgraceful that liberals are always trying to paint criminals as the victims while completely ignoring the real victims of this mass invasion of our country.

While he talks about the need to protect our borders you can’t do that by letting everyone in. If anyone should understand this it is an Army General and the former Secretary of State for crying out loud. He goes on to say he is not happy to see the direction the Republican Party is going in.  Neither are we, Mr. Powell! People like you are calling yourself Republicans when in truth you are nothing but a traitorous liberal.

I was talking to my son as we were walking to his school and we started talking about immigration and he said and I quote “You just can’t let everyone into the country Mommy. What about the bad guys and the people who are sick!” HE WAS IN KINDERGARTEN WHEN UTTERED THOSE WORDS!!!

So you mean to tell me a 5 year old understands immigration in its most basic form and a four star general does not? Are you friggin’ kidding me with this. Granted my son is highly intelligent, more so than even most of the adults I know but come on people, it doesn’t take a genius to realize that in order to protect our borders you can’t let just anyone in. With the murder of Arizona rancher, Robert Krantz who was killed by an illegal invader a few months back, it is time we get serious about illegals!

As for Colin, if he is knowingly hiring illegals he should be brought up on charges for hiring people he knows are breaking the law. As a military man he is supposed to be about law and order. If a four star general is getting away with this what is stop anyone from doing the same. Until people like him are jailed or fined heavily, this will keep happening. And Colin there is no illegals working in my house and I resent you saying so!

Any way you look at this statement by Colin it does  not spell good news.

1) He is knowingly hiring people he knows are in this country illegally. As such he is betraying his own country and turning his back on her citizens by hiring these people.

2) He is just assuming every Hispanic guy who is fixing his house is here illegally when they could very well be legal residents or citizens.

So he is either complicit in a crime or he is straight up racist. Either way does not bode well for him.  Colin,  if this is how you are going to treat your country then please jump ship and go over to the rest of the America haters in the Democratic party.

Why I Hate Twitter

Published February 3, 2009 by blacknright

There was an article today that says that Republicans Twitter more than Democrats.  Almost double the amount of Republicans  Twitter than Democrats. For those of you who are not familiar with Twitter. It is a very annoying little site that asks one question-What are you doing? That is supposed to connect people and spark conversations. Now how you are supposed to do all this in 140 characters or less,  I have no idea.  Anyway, I am gettting ahead of myself.  Here are my reasons I hate Twitter.

1) It  doesn’t do anything! With WordPress you have your blog, you can add videos, pictures,  text.  It can be long or short.  You can pick your background.  You are in control.  With Twitter, they are in control. They tell how long your answer to that annoying question can be. It doesn’t allow you to delete the junk you don’t want. It is a place where spam goes to get resurrected!

2) It only allows you 140 characters. Oh please, even when I barely write anything to my video posts, it is still more than 140 characters.  I don’t talk much in real life, all my conversations come out in my writing and you want me to keep it to 140 characters, are friggin’ kidding me?

3) It doesn’t allow your personality to come out. The choices of background are very limited. You have a picture that is so small that even if you were an atom, you would still have to squint to see it.  You get one sentence about yourself.  And a link for your blog.

4) You have all these followers supposedly following your updates but none of them are talking to YOU!!!!  Then why are you following me then if you are not going to talk to me? You have a bunch of messages that make absolutely no sense.  What if I just came up to you and just said, “Jason thinks the longitudal study of  Pfizer Pharmecuticals is….” and just stopped. Well first you want to know who the heck is Jason and why I am talking to about longitudal studies to you. Well imagine every conversation is like that and you have Twitter.  People are always “tweeting” part of conversations that have nothing to do with you. Well if you are not talking to me, don’t put it on my page! Put on the page that the person is responding to! I don’t want to know about all your conversations, just the conversations concerning me! If you are not talking to me, I really don’t care! But once you click them as a friend you get a minutae of conversations on your page that have absolutely nothing to do with anything you are talking about.  Now say I piqued your interest enough to want to know about those studies I was referring to good luck finding the thread that started it! It is nothing but chaos. Besides  if I wanted to be ignored with a billion people talking around me, I have my life for that, I certainly don’t need Twitter.

All in all, Twitter is mess.  Far superior network sites are Yahoo Groups, where if you miss part of the conversation you can go back and start from the beginning.  LDS Link Up, where you have forums, email and chat to keep in touch.  Reunion.com, where they do ask questions and you can pick which questions you want to answer or do a general entry.  Even Smart Girl Politics is vastly superior to Twitter.  But then again a horse using its hoof to tap out an answer is superior to Twitter. Because you can understand the horse.

Sarah Palin is One Hot Mama!

Published January 1, 2009 by blacknright

This video combines Trace Adkins-who I love-and Sarah Palin-who totally rocks!   I went and checked out the site and it is basically the same pictures you see here so it i is not some kind of trap that then goes and blast Sarah Palin.

I love this song because it is time the Mommas of the world were made to feel like they were still desirable.  Not to all the creeps in the world but to the men they have married and pledged their lives to. Sure it might be a bit on the corny side but it is an anthem for all the Hot Mamas out there!

Oh one more thing, congratulations Bristol on your baby boy. I hope he brings you years of joy! So I guess the Palin brood now has two hot Mamas in it. LOL

Sarah Palin and the Conservative Women’s Movement

Published November 11, 2008 by blacknright

sarah-todd-and-trig

Sarah Palin did more than just revitalize the conservative base of the Republican party who after years of dealing with RINOs had someone just like them running for the second highest post in the nation. Sarah Palin gave women like me a voice and a role model to emulate. Someone who had the same concerns, desires and goals for not only America but for family as we did. Someone who didn’t act like they swallowed a Roget’s Thesaurus and put on airs of superiority.

me-in-red-checkered-blouse

The feminists hated Palin because she was everything they were not. Married, happy and the governor of the largest state in the Union! She stepped on their toes, because she considered herself a hockey Mom before anything else. It was her children that meant the most to her, not her governorship, though she did take that office very seriously. She believes in God and through her political office she often would often speak at Christian events. [But if Obama wanted to speak at Satanists for Choice that wouldn’t be a problem.] So because she used her position to glorify Jesus Christ she is a menace that needs to be dealt with. Her greatest sin however is she didn’t abort her child Trig because of his Down’s Syndrome. Instead she and Todd had him and love him. How dare she! She had no right to bring a child like Trig in this world, she should’ve done the right thing-at least in their eyes-and aborted him.

sarah-palins-family2Conservative women like me learned long ago that feminist women are worse than the misogynistic men they claim to fight. For they seek to control every aspect of their adherent’s life. So the true independent thinkers are not feminist women who all regurgitate the same party line but the conservative women. She will not be told what to do, especially by a bunch of unhappy, bitter women who despise their innate femininity. Conservative women do not need to behave like tramps in order to secure a man. They do not need to flaunt their body to create an aura of mystique. They do not need to undervalue children to value their career. Even if that “career” is a stay at home mother. Conservative women give more to help the underprivileged then liberal women will ever give. It is her connection to God, family and country that make the conservative woman a leader in her community.

Sarah is proof of this. With Sarah, we found someone who speaks our language. Someone who shares our ideals. Someone who has tremendous success without having to sacrifice those things most important to her. Sarah has become our champion for all those who are proud to be Moms. Sarah has ignited a fire not only in the conservative women, but the conservative man as well. I have a male friend who is simply crazy about her and attributes the rekindling of his passion for politics to her. This is the magic of Sarah, she reaches out to everyone. Young, old, rich, poor, men, women, Black and White. In a recent poll, sixty percent of Republicans, you know those who actually vote and not the sorry political pundits, say Sarah Palin actually HELPED John McCain, not hurt him.

Feminist women are trying to say Sarah doesn’t speak for women. Well sorry to burst your bubble, sister but neither do you! Women can speak for themselves they don’t need the likes of you trying to brainwash them. Sarah spoke for herself and as such she ended up speaking for millions of women like me. Not all women, but a whole lot more than who the feminists supposedly speak for. There is one good thing about Obama and his impending presidency, he has awakened the conservative movement. We were all too complacent beforehand. Now we have focus, we have a mission-he has given us back the will to fight the liberal establishment. And the people at the forefront of this new conservative movement will be women. As he seeks to protect abortionists and bloody our wombs, we will be there. As he seeks to take away school choice for parents, we will be there. As he seeks to open the borders and let illegals slay us, we will be there. As he seeks to sit down with terrorists and create more 9/11s, we will be there. We are not backing down. We are not quitting. We will reign victorious because we have a righteous army of women standing up to evil! We are the new conservative movement and we are a force to be reckoned with!
