Is Trump the New Palin?

Donald Trump has been all over the news as of late making his bid for the presidency. His criticism of Obama has been received with glowing accolades from the Right. However, is the Right just so desperate for anyone to pick up the mantle of their cause that even Donald Trump would suffice?

Trump has even joined the “birther” bandwagon, wanting to know where Obama’s birth certificate is. Of course, this all seems a little Johnny come lately considering that the Right has taken severe blows for even asking this question for the past two years.Orly Taitz, most of all, has been made out to be some deranged psychopath whose only interest is taking down the United States government. So why is it now suddenly not the height of treason to demand the President actually follow the Constitution in terms of proving his eligibility.

Like Palin before, everyone  on the Left is sort of writing off Trump as some kind of quack. However, what the Left has yet to learn from their row with Palin is that Right is not so quick to cast people aside because they don’t fit into their notion of what a politician should be. If anything the fact that Trump is NOT a career politician might actually work in his favor.

Palin struck a chord with the American conservative public because they saw their own lives in her. She had respect for the conservative values and did not talk about conceding their values in the name of bipartisanship. (Of course, we all know bipartisanship only works in one direction, the conservatives must always be bipartisan, the Left never does!)

The glow seems to be fading somewhat from Palin but could it be restored with Trump’s emergence into the political arena. Will they team up together and run as a ticket? Or will Trump overtake Palin as the next supposed conservative icon? With Planned Parenthood on the ropes, despite its temporary reprieve in the Senate by cowardly Republicans who wouldn’t know a winning situation if it spit in their face, and with more backlash against liberalism everyday and with the Tea Party emerging as viable third party we are seeing the demise of liberalism. However, who will be able to take the conservative momentum and parlay it into a doable agenda and help restore our republic?

Trump? Palin? As much respect as I have for Palin and as much as I generally admire Trump’s rise to power, I don’t think either of them have what it takes to make this country great again. Who does? Only time will tell. Let’s just hope whoever it is remembers that the American people are their employers not  the DNC or the RNC. God bless America.

Running for President in 2012

So 2012 is right around the corner and I am not pleased with any of the possible Presidential candidates. So I have decided to do the impossible-I am going to run for the Presidency! Hey you already sent one inexperienced, community organizer to the Presidency, why not send another. At least I like America! Now, of course, I am not deluded enough to think I am going to win but I can get the message out there.  Of course, with my luck I would pull off a Barack Obama and be “Oh crap! Now I am President, what do I do now?”

My hope is that someone worth my vote will man up and then I can support them, but if no one does then it is up to me to do it myself. I am tired of social conservative being told to sit down and shut up! I am not going to the back of the bus, America! I will not be told by fiscal conservatives that saving money is more important than saving children! That the education of the populous is somehow a luxury, but jobs for the populous is not!

I want my country back! I want my God back! I want my children back! So how do I plan on getting these things back you may ask?

Gordon B. Hinckley

1) Well we have to start off by restoring the family. So instead of the UN’s “Rights of the Child” and while I support the “Parental Rights Amendment” currently being circulated, what we really need is the “The Rights of the Family.”  I think Gordon B. Hinckley did it best with The Family: A Proclamation to the World

The family is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity…We warn that individuals who violate covenants of chastity, who abuse spouse or offspring, or who fail to fulfill family responsibilities will one day stand accountable before God. Further, we warn that the disintegration of the family will bring upon individuals, communities, and nations the calamities foretold by ancient and modern prophets.

We call upon responsible citizens and officers of government everywhere to promote those measures designed to maintain and strengthen the family as the fundamental unit of society.

As President, I would make the preservation of the family, my first priority. You cannot have a healthy society if you have failing families. My whole puropose on this planet is to restore the family, I take that purpose very seriously. In a nutshell, I would only support pro-life, pro-marriage measures and would veto all legislation that runs contrary to that.

2.  My second goal would be to restore God to this land of ours. That doesn’t mean I am going to force anyone to believe in God (even God himself won’t do that, so why would I?) but it does mean, you crybaby atheists are going to have to get over yourselves and the pledge of allegiance will stand as it is. You have the right not to say it. If it kills you to be quiet for 20 seconds while it is being said…too bad! It also mean if a kindergartner wants to draw a picture of Jesus or a valedictorian wants to give thanks to Jesus Christ in her speech, they will be allowed to do so! It also means that public nativity scenes will not be banned at Christmas and people will once again be allowed to say “Merry Christmas” when shopping for gifts.  I will strike down the tax exempt law that prevents churches from speaking out on social issues of the day. This will free up churches to do their job once more and organize coalitions to help change specific situations that may fall into “political” parameters. The law was nothing but a smokescreen to shut Dr. King up anyway and needs to be struck down as unconstitutional!

3. I will take on the teachers unions and bring educator tyrants to their knees. It is time that the parent’s became responsible for their children’s education again. This means the decision where the child would go to school will be up to the parents not a bunch of bureaucrats who don’t know anything about your child.  Teachers-I am not your friend, I am a friend and advocate of the students! If you don’t plan on educating them, then I am coming for you! If you don’t care about them, then get out of the profession, we don’t need you! We need people who care about our children/students, who want the best for them! We need people like Mrs. Jones, Mrs. West, and Mrs. Radcliffe-teachers who put their students first and in the case of Mrs. Radcliffe actually taught a 4th grader how to think for herself! No more rubber rooms, no more tenure, no more unions holding the American people hostage! Do your job or get fired!

 4. Taxes-first of all the whole tax code needs to be thrown out and started over. There is no reason that the code so be difficult and convulted. We need to stop taxing people for every single breath they take.  If the Dems are so eager to pay more taxes, I will happily accomodate them.Give me your name, social security number and I will be sure to double your taxes for you. No problem. There needs to be a flat tax, if God’s church can survive on a flat tax (tithing) then so can the government. Estate tax is absolutely diabolical and needs to be eliminated. There is no reason to make the dead pay taxes too! It is absolutely ghoulish! By lifting the tax burden off of so many people, we allow business to grow and more people will be able to get jobs.  As for those businesses who continually outsource their jobs, I will fine you until your grandchildren’s grandchildren are paying the fine.  Hire Americans or else!

This is simply the beginning but you get the gist of it.

Urban Conservatives: Who Are They?

Blogger Vanessa Jean Louis of http://blog.afroconservative.com wrote a piece recently on what she has termed the “urban conservative.”  So who is this urban conservative and does having such a group help or hurt the conservative movement?

First of all, we must remember though conservatives share basic tenets, their individual ideologies can differ. Fiscal conservatives are often at odds with social conservatives. Fiscal conservatives often argue that we should simply ignore divisive topics like abortion, gay marriage and gays in the military and instead should focus all our efforts on restoring the economy. Social conservatives (of which I proudly claim to be one) say restoring the economy is a lesson in futility if you have a society that decaying all around you. We believe our first priority is to lift the human spirit and bring back the promise given to us in the Declaration of Independence. That all of us are entitled to “the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”  The right to life being first and foremost.

So who are these urban conservatives? Do we really need another breed of conservatives considering the battle already brewing between fiscal and social conservatives? Urban conservatives might be the answer though-according to jean Vanessa Louis’ site urban conservatives combine the social conservatives need to focus on societal issues with the fiscal conservatives view of limited government, especially concerning monetary matters.  Urban conservatives, according to Ms. Louis, should not be confused with black conservatism, since many urban conservatives come in all shades.

Urban conservatives are usually from the inner city (so am I an urban conservative by default?) and don’t see the solutions to solve the problems in their community as a one size fits all kind of deal.  There is this quote from Akindele Akinyemi (pictured on the right) on an urban conservative website titled Hip Hop Republican-http://www.hiphoprepublican.com

When we discuss the need for urban conservatism we do not seek to be validated by mainstream conservatives. So when we say we are not interested in Rush Limbnaugh, Ann Coulter or other radio shock jocks its not because we think what they are doing is not effective. If you like that level of entertainment then please support them. We simply want to concentrate on policies that we can help shape and develop to execute.

Urban conservatives seemed to have found a happy union between their social conservatism and their fiscal one. Maybe Jim DeMint was right when he was quoted as saying, “You can’t be a fiscal conservative without being a social conservative.” Obviously, urban conservatives already knew that. Maybe it is time for the rest of the conservative to figure it out to.

Dorifornia-How Soon We Forget!

Finding Nemo (video game)

Image via Wikipedia

For those of you who are Finding Nemo fans,  you will understand why I compared my state to the little blue fish, Dori. Dori suffers from short term memory loss.  Because she forgets so easily she is often caught in perilous situations. She is a good fish but her forgetfulness makes it harder to make friends or even basic decisions. This is where California finds itself right now.  Suffering from shert term memory loss.

Instead of picking someone new to help us weather this financial freefall we are currently experiencing we went and elected a governor from 1975! Are you kidding me, people! Granted, a big portion of the voting electorate wasn’t even born in 1975 but shame on you for those who were!  While the rest of the country was busy cleaning house and putting in conservative candidates to the point where we actually reclaimed the House again, California was busy being nostalgic and remembering how good they looked in hot pants to actually do anything to help our state. It is absolutely despicable that Jerry Brown would be elected…again!

Let’s look at what California was like during his tenure as governor. We had the worst energy crisis to the point where gasoline was being rationed. You could only get gasoline based on your license plate number and on certain days.  We had ridiculously high unemployment and though I was young back then, I clearly remember the constant cuts to education. So where are we today? We have ridiculously high unemployment, high gas prices and cuts to education. Hmmm, he didn’t fix anything the first time around, what makes you think he is going to do anything this time?

California is clearly being run by a lot of brain dead dolts who haven’t the foggiest clue about their own history.  What is worse is that California seems unwilling to admit that their liberal policies have done more to depress not only the people but the economy itself. They seem unwilling to try anything new instead they keep banging their head against the proverbial wall while complaining of a headache. It is pure insanity in California. The only good thing is that they had enough brain cells not to legalize  pot! Other than that,  they have shown themselves to be liberal to the point of utter and complete retardation. It is a shame because California holds such promise. Too bad we keep wasting it on people like Jerry Brown.

America’s Independent Women

"The Third-Term Panic", by Thomas Na...

Image via Wikipedia

I have been asked to speak on Chelene Nightingale’s behalf at Los Angeles City College during their Voter Ed seminar that they will be presenting on November 1st at 1pm. Chelene Nightingale is the American Independent Party gubernatorial candidate (Note: What a funny word-gubneratorial. Does that make all our governors-goobers? LOL) I have been officially allowed by her campaign to speak on her behalf, so it is just not me going out there as a supporter but it is in a somewhat official capacity as well.

If you look closely at this race, you will see a large number of women running for public office. We have two women running for governor and neither one is a Democrat. We have two women running for the Senate seat. Men seem almost non-existent in this race. Women and minorities have come to realize that the Democratic policies –which were supposed to make their lives better and provide equality–have failed miserably. Because of this those who were before beholden to the Democratic Party are beginning to reject it.

This has led women (and men) to leave the failing two party system and seek out other alternative third parties. While the Dems and GOP continue to fight among themselves, people are looking towards creating and promoting already established third parties. Let the Dems and Republicans mock this growing movement. As Mahatma Ghandi once said:  “First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.” We are going to win and it will be those “independent” breed of women and men that bring it to pass.

It has been an honor to work with Chelene’s campaign manager, Dani. She has been quite a  help as I try to promote Chelene as the best candidate we have for governor. Why is she the best candidate you ask? In my opinion she is the best candidate she has the best vision for California and has a plan on how to get us there. She wants to give homeschooling parents, a tax credit.  She wants to bring jobs back to California by giving small businesses tax incentives and tax breaks. She wants to halt illegal immigration by attrition. By forcing illegals to go back home, there will be more needed services for those who are in this country legally and its citizens. These reforms are needed to get this state back on its feet again.

I think it is imperative that we stop looking to the broken two party system, which is really the one party system, and start coming up with new ways to impact our government. Whether Chelene wins or loses she is taking a stand and putting the politicians on notice. We don’t need politicians, we need public servants and I feel that is what Chelene Nightingale brings to the table, more so than her rivals.

Third Parties-Are They Viable?

There are plenty of “third party” parties out there. You have the Constitution Party, American Independent Party, The Green Party, Libertarian Party

(which to me is the Democratic Party on steriods.), The Peace and Freedom Party and the list goes on.  However, when you ask most people about the third party candidates, you often hear one familiar refrain-“voting for a third party is a waste of a vote because a third party can never win.”

Good thing no one told Abraham Lincoln that back in 1860, when he was running on a third party ticket, the newly formed Republican Party for the Presidency.  Maybe they did but he just didnt’ listen. Maybe he had more faith in his party, more faith in his capabilities as a lawyer, a Congressman and future president and definitely more faith in the American people not to get sidetracked by Whigs telling him he didn’t stand a chance!

The Republican Party went from a lowly third party to being not only a major party but giving us the most Presidents out of any party! There are some really good parties out there, all it takes is stop the defeatist attitude that voting for a third party always means certain death and start searching out parties that truly reflect your values. If you are a crazed communist bent on world domination and global socialism. Then maybe the Democratic Party is for you after all.  For the rest of us, it is time we fight the two party system and start electing people that are truly “representative” of us and our beliefs.

Are third parties viable? Only if we make them viable. Only if we stop thinking we have to take this broken system and continue using it. Of course, third parties will continue to lose if we don’t back them. But as the Republican Party has shown us, third parties are not doomed to be third parties forever and it is time that the American people to show the politicians who really is in charge! It is through times of adversity that greatness is revealed, not success. In order to gain back our liberties, we need to stand against the Whigs and Democrats of today!

I think since the days of Lincoln, slavery and Confederacy has there never been so great a need for a third party in this country.  Status quo has never achieved anything worthwhile, so it is time we revolt against it and show these modern politicians what “We the People” really means! The more  people are willing to leave the failing two parties, the more they will have to work to retain our vote. Don’t think it is time they start working for us again people?

Will Conservatives Blow It in 2010?

When Republican Newt Gingrich took his place as Speaker of the House in 1995, he made a “Contract With America.” It was supposed to save our country from the future onslaught of  liberal policies and return our country to the  former constitutional republic it had been.

According to Wikipedia:

Proponents say the Contract was revolutionary in its commitment to offering specific legislation for a vote, describing in detail the precise plan of the Congressional Representatives, and marked the first time since 1918 that a Congressional election had been run broadly on a national level. Furthermore, its provisions represented the view of many conservative Republicans on the issues of shrinking the size of government, promoting lower taxes and greater entrepreneurial activity, and both tort reform and welfare reform.

The “Contract With America” was seen as a tremendous victory for the conservative movement. However, even with such an surge of political activism and  a burgeoning political movement-it failed. It failed not because the Contract itself was defective but because we rested on our laurels. The Republicans had reclaimed Congress after forty years of a Democratic majority. However, instead of using that victory to make permanent and lasting changes to our government we simply gave up.  We thought we had won the fight and that nothing else was needed.

During the Impeachment Hearings in 1999

We are pretty much at the same point 15 years later.  In 1995, the Republicans gained their victory because the Clinton Administration  was falling apart and Clinton was constantly under attack for charges of misconduct. With Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Monica Lewinsky, Whitewater, the Foster suicide among other events, the Clinton Administration was seen as “corrupt.” Even the impeachment of the President was a mere three years away. It was a troubling time. Had the Republicans not won the majority in such conditions-that would’ve been the shocker.

So here we are again with the Obama administration and his flagrant disregard for the Constitution itself, let alone the America people. His approval rating is slipping. Obamacare has turned out to be his biggest mistake which he still refuses to recognize. He has taken over private industry like with GM and he has put the most rabid, radical people in his cabinet, going so far as to create “czar” positions that are accountable only to him. The bailouts, the debt, the birth certificate no one has seen, all these things have made Obama-the worst president ever. With Obama, Pelosi and Harry Reid all under attack, the Democratic party  is falling apart.  So it is only logical  that the conservative movement via the Tea Party is growing exponentially again.

Will we have learned our lesson from 1995 though? Will we take the momentum that we have built over the last decade and waste it? Or will we blow it like we did in 1995? The biggest problem is that everyone wants to be on the winning side, so when they see it is profitable for them to be conservative-they all jump on the bandwagon. When it stops becoming convenient they will abandon it in a minute. This is most especially true of our politicians. It is time we find those who are committed to the conservative cause and place them in the power of leadership. Not just at the federal level, but the local level as well–which has a bigger impact on our day to day lives anyway. It is time to stop falling for the “Contracts with America” and start concentrating on the only “contract” that matters and that is the Constitution.  I hope we have learned from our mistakes in 1995 so when we regain the House again, we will peter our chance to make real changes in this country all away.
