South Central Tea Party Organizes

Soldier around Nablus April 2006

Yesterday I went to the South Central Tea Party. I had a good time and for once no one said, “It is good to see a Black person here.” Not that I mind all that much, but it was great just to be one of the bunch. Gathered around were people who were concerned about their country and the color of their skin did not play into it.

We were out there to protest the lies of the NAACP, who were busy holding a conference at the Convention Center.  Jesse L. Peterson who is the founder and director of BOND was the primary organizer of this event. An event that was a long time in coming. Did we make a dent in armor of the NAACP? Probably not, but then again nothing worth fighting for is ever easy.

This past Sunday was just the beginning. It was to let the NAACP know that they can’t depend on support of every Black person because if anyone is racist, it is the NAACP. Any other organization that would advocate for the death of millions of Blacks would be brought up on blatant discrimination charges yet the NAACP is able to get away with it? Why is that? Abortion is the biggest killer of Blacks and yet the NAACP has sided with those who seek to destroy us.

Anyone who would side with people who want to destroy the poor and Blacks which oftentimes are the same thing are nothing more than thugs. What South Central Tea Party gets that other Tea Parties don’t is that this cannot just be about how the government spends money. That how it spends money, is a root of something much deeper. That if you don’t fix the moral compass of a nation, nothing else is going to matter.

Abortion was not only brought up at this Tea Party, it was specifically addressed as one of the issues deeply affecting the Black population. That is something that is seldom addressed at other Tea Parties and while I understand you don’t want to get bogged down with too many issues, the issues of life and death and our government actively promoting death should be a topic to be addressed within the Tea Party framework.

While we may not have made a dent to Ben Jealous and his organization, we might have at least raised some awareness of what the NAACP believes and what the average Black person believes and that can only benefit the dialogue between the two.

Tea vs. Kool Aid: My Response to Nathan Gawronsky at SMC

Nathan Gawronsky is a writer for the Corsair at Santa Monica College. I attended the Associated Students (AS) meeting yesterday and was given a brief tour by their AS President, Tiffany Ibuyani along with my ASO Presidents Shawn Adamski and Jaden Ledkins. I was impressed with the wealth of the community college but not with much else. LACC definitely has more heart. However, I digress, as I read this fluff piece in their Corsair newspaper I had to answer it back.  The piece is entitled “Tea Party and GOP are mad as hatters.”

The following is what makes us “mad.” (Of course, I am mad, mad that people like these seem willing to sell my rights, my country and children for the criminal element of our population!)

The idealized America that Tea Party followers dream of is a place where gays live exclusively in Los Angeles (Sodom) and New York (Gomorrah), corporations pay record low taxes, women never get abortions, prisons grow bigger, and Muslims and illegal aliens can take a hike.

My response:

The liberal ideology is so much based on the acceptance of debauchery and criminality that if it wasn’t so highly lethal, it would be almost funny. Let’s take each piece that you think adds to society starting with homosexuality. Liberals are the same people who will condemn a person for smoking because it shortens their life and pollutes the environment yet have no problem with homosexuality which a Canadian study found shortened the lives of those affected by it from 8-20 years. Smoking only takes 13 years off your life. If you want to read the study for yourself go to:

In a major Canadian centre, life expectancy at age 20 years for gay and bisexual men is 8 to 20 years less than for all men. If the same pattern of mortality were to continue, we estimate that nearly half of gay and bisexual men currently aged 20 years will not reach their 65th birthday. Under even the most liberal assumptions, gay and bisexual men in this urban centre are now experiencing a life expectancy similar to that experienced by all men in Canada in the year 1871.

So why would I promote something that is potentially lethal to so many people? Just like I don’t advocate smoking, alcoholism or drug use, I don’t promote homosexuality either. It does not make me a bigot, though that is a easy comeback for the liberal Left. It makes a concerned citizen who does not wish to see a life get snuffed out by homosexual practices.

Let’s go with the next one, corporations pay record low taxes. Unless you are a sadist, no one wants to pay taxes, everyone wants to pay the lowest possible tax and what is wrong with that? The less corporations have to pay in taxes, the more likely they are stay in the United States to do business. The more they stay here instead of going oversea, the more likely Americans will have jobs. The more Americans that have jobs, the less we have to spend on welfare and other social programs. The less we have to spend on social programs, the more money can be used for education and other necessary institutions. Everybody wins!

Onto the next one, women never get abortions! Liberal men have to be the most cowardly of the male species because they are the ones who advocate abandoning women and children to abortion so they can continue their wanton ways of seducing every woman who comes along. Abortion is not about the rights of women, in fact, Alice Paul-the author of the Equal Rights Amendments, said abortion was the ultimate exploitation of women. The original suffragettes were all anti-abortion. Abortion has always been about men trying to pit women against her children. In fact, Bernard Nathanson, who is now pro-life but originally got NARAL started is the one who convinced Betty Friedan to make abortion a “woman’s issue” because it never was before. Up to 60 percent of women are forced or coerced into abortion. Women have been killed for NOT choosing abortion.  Women like Deena Moody who was killed by her abortionist boyfriend, Alfred E. Smith, for refusing to abort. A world where women never get abortion would be a world where women and children are safe and protected from pro-abortion predators. A women where women never get abortions means a world where all children are free to be born and lead the lives they were destined to live without interference from pro-choicers. It would be a beautiful world filled with laughter of children instead of 50 million dead!

Now, let’s talk about prisons. Is it a tragedy when you have someone who hasn’t committed a crime imprisoned? Yes, I know of such tragedies. That being said, I have also been greater traumatized because someone who should’ve been locked up wasn’t! The drunk driver who killed my father had a past history of drinking and driving and was allowed to keep driving and kill my father. So I don’t want to hear about the rights of criminals. I care more about the rights of victims. If you want to help those who have been wrongly accused and imprisoned unjustly then go to Voice of the Martyrs where people in other countries are imprisoned for professing Christ. Or does the point that they are Christians make you more antagonistic to their plight? I didn’t cry when Ted Bundy got fried. I didn’t cry when Jeffrey Dahmer was killed either. These men had caused untold damage and deserved the penalty they got. Their victims get my tears, not the murderers.

The last point-Muslims and illegal aliens can take a hike.

Most definitely!!! I don’t want to hear that all Muslims are not terrorists that is a false argument. All Muslims don’t need to be terrorists, not when you have a big enough faction of them that are. All Germans didn’t kill 5 million Jews  during World War II, it just took a big enough faction to accomplish it though. All White people weren’t slave owners pre-Civil War but there were enough of them to keep slavery intact until it was abolished. The fact that not every Muslim is out to get us, doesn’t mean we ignore the ones who are!

In 1993, the World Trade Center was bombed by a group of conspirators including Ramzi Yousef, Mahmud Abouhalima, Mohammad Salameh, Nidal A. Ayyad, Abdul Rahman Yasin and Ahmad Ajaj. They received financing from Khaled Shaikh Mohammed, Yousef’s uncle. In March 1994, four men were convicted of carrying out the bombing:

Then we have the U.S.S Cole which was also bombed by Al Qaeda.

The USS Cole Bombing, or the USS Cole Incident, was a suicide attack against the United StatesNavydestroyerUSS Cole (DDG 67) on October 12, 2000 while it was harbored and refueling in the Yemeni port of Aden. Seventeen American sailors were killed, and 39 were injured. This event was the deadliest attack against a United States Naval vessel since 1987

Of course, 9/11 is pretty obvious and then we have Nick Berg who was beheaded on the internet, need I go on. Until we stop being attacked and until the Muslims revolt against this tyranny don’t ask to close my eyes to those who are trying to kill me and my people!

Lastly, really do I have to defend LEGAL immigration!? I don’t welcome criminals into my country. Come to my country correctly or don’t come at all! Respect my land or go home! If you can’t understand why I am against ILLEGAL immigration then I would say the mad hatter is actually you, not the ones who want the rules of their country to be respected! I don’t have time to continue, have to get back to studying and not breaking the law! What a tough day I have in store!

Michelle Alexander Comes to LACC

An African-American child at a segregated drin...

Michelle Alexander, the author of the New Jim Crow, will be coming to Los Angeles City College on March 23 at 12:30pm. Now her basic premise is that Blacks are incarcerated at a much higher rate than other ethnicities and that drugs are the main factor in their incarceration.  So instead of calling for young Black men to stop doing and selling drugs, instead of calling for better jobs and better educational opportunities we are just going to play the familiar victim card again and say “Wo is me, I am Black and I am locked up but it is not my fault. It’s the White man’s!”

I am sick of the ongoing victimization by the Liberal Left. Even if that is the case, maybe if they would start following the law instead of breaking it, they wouldn’t spend so much time in jail. I live in the “hood” where there is a liquor store every other block and where the schools look more like mini prisons than they do centers for learning, however that doesn’t mean I have to fall into that “victim mindset.”

We have a Black president for crying out loud! (And yes, he is Black. We both have Black fathers and White mothers, so if I am Black so is he!) We are now “The Man.”  So enough with the ongoing racism! The day we voted for Obama based on his skin color instead of his qualifications is the day racism died!  Does that mean everyone in America is no longer racist-of course not! It does mean, however, that as a country institutionalized racism is no longer the norm!  You want to know what is ailing the Black community? Abortion! We are killing our own people at a pace that the federal government with all their Jim Crow laws never came close to achieving! In nearly 40 years, we have reached the level of lives lost that took 400 years of slavery to reach! So don’t tell me about what the White man is doing to us, what we are doing to ourselves is far worse! The most dangerous place for a Black person isn’t in the jails, it is in the womb! With 60% of Blacks being slaughtered on a daily basis, we need to be concerning ourselves with that real issue and not this manufactured one.

You want to know what elses is ailing the Black community? Education. More Black women go to college than Black men. Why is that? It is because Black men have bought into the whole “Thug Life” mentality and don’t want to better themselves.  There is good news, however, if you look at LACC’s ASO as a representation of what is happening throughout the colleges in America, you get a hopeful picture. There are 17 members on our board, out of those 4 are Black (3 males, 1 female), that is about a quarter of the student government is Black.  Considering we are not even a quarter of the U.S. population I say that is pretty good! If we can get a few more Mannys, Donovans and Ahmaads, we might just be okay.  In the meantime, we have to get Blacks interested in obtaining their education and get rid of the Oreo Complex that prevents them from doing so.

So my question to Michelle is this; Instead of trying to romanticize the Black criminal why don’t you do more to get at the roots of their incarceration? If you are going to school, working and taking care of yourself and family then you just don’t have the time to commit crimes and take drugs. It is time to stop making excuses for people who break the law and have them be held accountable for their actions. It is time the decent people spoke out!

Fighting the Progressives

Luck Just Kissed You Hello

Image by Baby's In Black via Flickr

I often wonder how a group of people that are so dead set against progress could ever call themselves “progressive.” Most  progressives are very much anti-progress even when that progress actually agrees with them on another and supposedly more important issue.

Let’s take the Bus Riders Union here in Los Angeles. These  people are the bane of my existence. The Bus Riders Union is the main reason I hate unions (well them and LAUSD but that is another story altogether)  because they have no concern for the people they are supposedly helping.  Let’s take a look at some of their initiatives.

One of them is called: 1000 more buses, 1000 less police!

Mayor Villaraigosa: More Police Is Not a Progressive Vision for L.A.

Hiring 1000 additional police officers has become a top city budget priority under Mayor Villaraigosa. In 2008, the Mayor announced he was halfway to keeping his campaign pledge of 1000, even as he was moving to cut $100 million from the city budget.

1000 More Buses, 1000 Less Police calls on the Mayor to make a complete U-turn to fund social services, not criminalization.

Are you kidding me with this? According to a July 2008 report from the U.S Census Department there are 9,862,049 people inLos Angeles County alone. That is not taking into account the other 57 counties with the entire state of California. We are the eighth largest economy in the WORLD (California) and you want to put people’s lives at risk by decreasing the police force? Are you insane? I am sorry if I had to choose between buses and police I am choosing police! Even if  have to walk everywhere!

Then there is this little beaut:

We know the Mayor does advocate some progressive policies and has taken some good stands on some issues. But expanding the police/prison state is not the only step he is taking to endanger the social welfare state.

And there you go people! Right there the truth comes out! It is not about protecting people or giving people a chance to succeed on their own, it is about having the welfare state stay firmly intact and keeping the minority population dependent on them! Now remind me again, what does any of this have to do with lousy bus service? Absolutely nothing because it is not about getting better and improved transportation in Los Angeles. It is not about getting a rail system that will service everyone, rich and poor. It is not about cleaning up the graffiti on the buses, or having better security to protect the riders. It is about a socialist agenda and nothing else.

In fact according to a report by Metro that dealt with a public  hearing on various transportation issues facing Metro people did want more trains and not more buses!

This comes from a man named Gary Guth who was at one of these hearings:

MR. GUTH:  Hello, my name is Gary. I want the Wilshire Purple Line extended all the way to the ocean, please. I believe that’s the project that the money should be worked on, and that will allow anybody from the Valley that wants to go to the beach have access to it.  And MTA is too slow in completing these projects. How long is it going to take to duplicate all the street car routes that we had in 1961 that were ended, that you guys took away and took that private company out of business? Will it take 100 years? We won’t be able to enjoy it in the audience here.

The irony of all this is that the Bus Rider Union acts like they care about the environment, yet they don’t want trains that are faster, more efficient and don’t leave that dreaded carbon emissions that cause “global warming.” Why is that? Shouldn’t they be fighting to get the trains  up and running faster instead of keeping us chained to antiquated buses? Again, they fight progress.

As you can see the Bus Riders Union is a fraud and doesn’t speak for the people who actually depend on not only the buses to get around but the very limited rail system that needs to be expanded not killed. Progressives are never for real progress and it is time we show these socialists that they will not continue to keep us stuck in the “social welfare state.” That we will  not be their pawns. That we will rise against their tyranny and that of the government that drags its feet in getting us a functioning and thriving public transportation system! It is time we formed our own coalition and fought the both of them!

Lee Paige to Speak at LDS Church

Lee Paige will be giving a talk at a local LDS Church. Lee Paige gave a talk at LACC last semester on becoming a paralegal. He will be one of the many people giving a talk tonight. Two current students from BYU (Brigham Young University) and one from USC Law school will be speaking as well. It will be a great opportunity to network with others in the Legal Field. Hopefully you will be able to attend. And while my church is sponsoring this, it is not just for members of the church, anyone can attend and bring a friend. There will be light refreshment after the speaking engagement and an opportunity to mingle as well. Here is the information

Marvin Perkins to Speak in Long Beach

marvincover1If  you go to my entry entitled “A Black Mormon and Proposition 8you will meet Marvin Perkins.  He is an author, who co-wrote a book called, “Blacks in the Scriptures.” Which you can also get on DVD.   He will be speaking in Long Beach, California next Sunday at 6:30pm. I will be trying to attend the fireside (a fireside is basically church at night, for those you not in the know.) since I am very much interested in hearing what he has to say. Especially since being a Black Mormon seems to be an oxymoron for most people.

I know people ask me how can I be a part of a church that has had such a racist past associated with it.  My new answer is going to be, “Darling I was a Democrat for most of my life and we all know you don’t get more racist than that!” Heck, if I only went to places that I was sure were  100% non-racist I would never leave my house!  And considering I was being bussed in 1978 to a predominantly white school, that tells me the church was no more far behind on the times than the rest of the nation!

Anyway, I am getting off the subject. Back to Marvin Perkins, when I first saw the video about him speaking in defense of Proposition 8, I knew this was a courageous man.  A man who put God before his own comfort and own priorities.  And while we have taken the majority of heat for the passage of Proposition 8, my church and its members have acted nobly and without retaliation! And since he and my friend Marjorie Christopherson were the two most visible faces of Proposition 8, I would like an opportunity to thank him for standing up for what is right, like I was able to do with Marjorie.

May God continue to bless this man, as he continues to bring the restored Gospel to our people, so they too can be integral in building the new Zion.

KABC Says No to Gay Family Ad

Member of the Boxxet Network of Blogs, Videos and Photos
I almost fell out of my chair when I read that.  ABC says no to gay advertising? I couldn’t believe they would put the best interests of their viewers ahead of the Almighty Dollar and the Gay Elite! I guess there is hope after all.

KABC rejects gay ad during inauguration

This might not as shocking if the ABC affiliate was in Iowa or one of those pesky red states that liberals can’t stand (but I adore) but the rejection came from the heart of Liberal Land, USA-Los Angeles.  Their reasoning was it was too controversial to air during a time when many families would be watching the coverage of Obama’s inauguration.

The people behind the ad, which is named in the article but I won’t name here as I won’t endorse their cause, said there was nothing controversial about the family portrayed in the ad.  If that is the case Prop. 8 would’ve passed with flying colors. It did not. Why? Because of the controversy of same sex unions.  To simply deny its controversial state does not make it so. I can deny I am overweight all I want to, does not make me skinny.  It just makes me deluded.

I applaude KABC for standing up to the gay activists who want to see the institution of family torn asunder and replaced by an anything goes kind of relationships. It is deeply heartening to see Los Angeles coming back to its senses. Maybe we can now take on West Hollywood and get rid of all the shops aimed at promoting a dangerous, perverted lifestyle. If you want to engage in sexual practices that only breed disease and death, we can’t stop you. But you should not be taking children along for the ride and we certainly shouldn’t be promoting it as some kind of healthy alternative.

Bravo KABC-I may just start watching you again!

Porn Aflame!

This has to be from the files of: Divine retribution. I couldn’t help but get a little giddy reading this article. No one was hurt so that’s good, but if all these type of buildings burned to the ground, what a wonderful miracle that would be! The following is the article from the Daily News that describes the incident.

Fire damages Canoga Park porn set.

CANOGA PARK – Los Angeles firefighters battled a blaze early this morning at a Canoga Park commercial building used by the adult film industry, a fire department spokesman said.

The fire was reported at 2:19 a.m. at 8037 Remmet Avenue, near Strathern Street, said spokesman Cecil Manresa of the Los Angeles Fire Department. About 20 percent of the building was damaged by the blaze.

The building contains several units, including offices and sets that are used in adult films, Manresa said. About 100 firefighters were at the scene.

No injuries were immediately reported, he said. The accidental fire appeared to have been caused by a heating element which failed.

Heating element huh? Well we know people get overheated in there, wonder if it was some defective vibrator gone awry. LOL. Oh well, good riddance!

Things I am Grateful For

With Thanksgiving around the corner I decided to do a list of things I am grateful for.

1) I am grateful that the hottest men on the planet all belong to the Mormon church. So no matter who I marry, he is going to be a hottie.

2) I am grateful for my son Adonai because I have someone to turn the television when I don’t feel like getting up and I get to say it is part of teaching him to be responsible and independent.

3) I am grateful to live in America, where else could an anti-American, terrorist loving commie be elected President?

4) I am grateful for the Magic Johnson Theatres because though their prices are outrageous and their small popcorn only gives you four kernels of corn, I never have to wait in line to use the restroom. There is like a 100 of those bad boys! Hey corporate America-take note-give the women more than 1 restroom! Thank you!magic-johnson-theatres

5) I am grateful that I am not living in Iraq because with the signing of troop withdrawal and their departure soon, it wouldn’t be long until terrorists were back in control. (Hey Obama! Way to go, destroy two countries for the price of one!)

6) I am grateful that I lost seven pounds though let’s face it, I might as well lost seven ounces. Though considering I look at chocolate and gain ten pounds, it is not so bad. At least the scale is going down and not up.

7) I am grateful for KDOC, the only channel in Los Angeles, that isn’t doesn’t make me blush every time I watch it.

8. I am grateful that I have the best friends in the world and some of the dumbest enemies.

9) I am grateful for global warming. Makes things nice and toasty. Stocking up on those incandescent light bulbs baby, because I am not paying 10 dollars a pop for toxic light bulbs!

10) I am grateful that Obama’s face is going to be on a coin because now I can run over “Obama” with a car and not go to jail.

Antonio Villaraigosa-Betrayer of Christ

more about “ – Your News Right Now“, posted with vodpod

The mayor of Los Angeles has basically called Christ a liar! Christ himself has declared marriage to be between one man and one woman! Who is this man to call Christ a liar? You want same sex marriage-fine! But you leave Jesus out of it, he has already spoken on the matter and if you don’t like what he has said-too bad! He created this world-you didn’t! His word is the only word that matters and Antonio should be ashamed of himself for dragging Christ’s name into it!

A Modern Day Mormon Heroine

I was going to write about the persecution of my friend, Marjorie  (Margie) Christofferson, who has been targeted by the gay community for giving 100 bucks to the Yes on Prop 8 campaign.  But instead of talking about their hatred which we have seen displayed so clearly I want to talk about Margie.

Margie is a wonderful, beautiful older woman in my ward. She owns El Coyote Mexican restaurant,  a big gay hang out in Los Angeles.  Even though she doesn’t agree with their lifestyle she has never discriminated against any of them.  And I know through my church relationship with her she has been nothing but kind, thoughtful and always willing to lend a helping hand.  She is the first one to pitch in whenever we have an event.  She was even willing to lend her house for a Relief Society party that because of circumstances beyond anyone’s control had to be canceled. She participates in the Relief Society discussion always giving a fresh perspective on the Gospel.

Margie is tall and sleek.  She has a most regal air about her.  She has a smile that lights up a room.  She is the epitome of grace and intelligence.  Until this recent event I didn’t even know she owned El Coyote-that is because she doesn’t feel the need to brag or boast about her own accomplishments. She is humble and without an ounce of pretentiousness about her.  I always liked and admired her, but these recent events have deepened that.  Every time I see her, I smile, give her a hug, maybe a chat for awhile.  But I had no idea of the true character of this remarkable woman until the other day.

At the press conference she gave, the gay community were trying to force her to give money to the NO on Prop 8 campaign (Hello! It is over, what good would it do now? As long as we are going to give money to obsolete causes, why not pony up some cash for the Build the Titanic fund as well?  After all, that ended up sinking too!) yet she said she would not.  She would not apologize for standing by her beliefs and as upset as she was, she still stayed true to the Gospel.  So the boycott was on.  If she wasn’t going to apologize, if she wasn’t going to give money to their cause, if she was going to stand up to their bullying, well she was going to have to pay.  It would’ve been easy just to give into what they wanted and not sacrifice her livelihood.  Yet she was willing to do just that to follow her faith.

A friend of mine told me today that he heard someone say, “Today we are all Mormons.”  That touched me, but not as much as Margie’s courage and strength in the face of personal adversity.  To know such a woman is truly an honor.  You don’t meet many great people in your life, they are a rarity.  I have pledged to do whatever I can to help her get through this. If Margie is willing to sacrifice so much for what she believes, the least I can do is support her and stand by her.  The people who are vilifying her don’t even begin to know what kind of wonderful person they are hurting.  They will never have the moral fortitude to looks such heated opposition in the eye and not blink.  They will never be as good, forgiving or loving as my good friend Margie Christofferson. May God watch over her now.  May all those who supported Prop. 8 support her now.  She given so much for us, it is time to pay her back.

Mormon Persecution

The Mormons have been targeted for persecution by the NO on 8 campaign.  Since losing the battle, they have taken to the streets and have been leveling attacks at the Mormon church.  While their message focuses on hate by Mormons, they don’t see their own hateful behavior.

Who hates who?

Who hates who?

The pro-life movement has lost three times to enact parental consent in California, though I think this time we have gotten closer than in the last two elections. Yet not during one of those times did we take to the streets and challenge the proposition.  We didn’t like the voter results-we still don’t-but instead of calling names and intimidating those we disagree with, we recoup, we lick our wounds and we try again.  In fact there is a whole lot more riding on Proposition 4 then there is for Proposition 8.  At least in my book.  The unborn child lost their right to life….again!  What did the gays lose? Nothing.  Since under the domestic partnership law any two people can register and receive the same rights as those of a married couple. Their rights are still intact, the unborn child’s right to live is still up for grabs.

The Mormon Church is an easy scapegoat for the losers in this campaign.  Because we take our civic duty seriously and that angers them.  According to Yahoo News! “In Salt Lake City, a crowd of about 2,000 chanted “Separate church and state” and waved rainbow flags outside the headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which encouraged its members to work to pass the amendment by volunteering their time and money for the campaign. Some protesters held signs with messages like, “Mormons: Once persecuted, now persecutors.”

So let’s look at the truth instead of the vicious lies of the Left:

1) The separation of church and state is NOT in the Constitution.  The Constitution forbids the state from establishing a national religion, it says nothing about individuals in a church voting their collective conscience! A church is free to express their beliefs within the public arena.  There was nothing remotely illegal about the church’s participation in the Proposition 8 campaign.  There were also marriage amendments in Florida and Arizona that also passed but you don’t see the people in those states resorting to such blatant bigotry.  There are Mormons in Florida and Arizona and I am sure they worked to pass those gay marriage bans as well.  The Mormons are not the only people who voted in California for traditional marriage.  A lot of other faiths did as well as well as those with no faith.  The gay community is saying we are taking away their right but there is no right to marry in the Constitution. There is a right to freedom of speech, which they are trying to take away by saying we shouldn’t as citizens been involved in the Prop. 8 campaign. Though they are entirely within their rights to vote no on it, we are not allowed to offer differing views.  There is a right to freedom of religion (And guess what you don’t need to look far to find those rights, they are the FIRST AMENDMENT!!!) and as such we are free to exercise those religious values wherever we see fit. Even in the voting booth.

2)  It is ironic that they don’t want the state involved in religious matters since they seem to want the state involved in everything else.  They want to state to “affirm their love.” They want the state to mandate teaching of homosexuality from K-12.  They want the state to grant them benefits as they would a married couple. But all of a sudden it is separation of state and church.  That being said, though the church backed Proposition 8, it never once forced anyone to work on the campaign or give money to it. All of that was done of the members own free will. Some members were even against Prop 8.  I knew of one personally.  Though even my most liberal ward members were backing the proposition.  So each member was able to make up their own mind.  They weren’t penalized if they didn’t participate. They weren’t denied temple recommends or have any of their callings stripped from them. It was a strictly voluntary and if the Mormon church  raised the most money for Yes on 8, it is only because we believed in it so.  When it comes down to it, they would deny us the right to believe what we want. As you can see, their answer is not to earn new rights but to strip the rights of Mormowe-the-peoplens away.  Along with the right of the 52% of Californians who voted for the Constitutional amendment.

3) Then there is that sign that says: Mormons: Once persecuted, now persecutors.” Hmmm, if that is the case why aren’t Mormons going to your places of worship and harassing you?  So why aren’t we calling for a boycott of West Hollywood, San Francisco and other predominantly gay areas like you are doing with Los Angeles and Utah? If we are persecuting you, why are we not calling for any pro-gay church that contributed to No on 8 campaign to have their tax exempt status pulled, like you are doing with the church? It is not the Mormon Church that are doing the persecuting.  However, I have no fear of the boycott in regards to the Church.  So to the 52% who supported the amendment-let’s do a buycott!  Whether you are Mormon or not, spend some time in beautiful Utah if you can.  Go skiing, do some hiking, have some fun.  Even if you are not a member, drop the church a line and let them know you appreciate everything they did to help pass Proposition 8.  If we do that, their boycott won’t even register as a blip the Church’s radar. We are the fastest growing church in the world and there has to be a reason.  And I can tell you why, liberalism has failed and people want the truth and that is found in our church.  The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  May those who are persecuting the church now come to see the errors of their way and accept the Lord, Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Only then will they know true and everlasting happiness. Something homosexuality can never supply.

As I close this article, I do so with a heavy heart but also with untold joy.  It is disheartening to see such vile hatred targeted at the Mormon Church. This church has done more for me than I could ever repay. They have given me purpose, respect, honor and love.  I have been accepted without conditions, I have comforted when I needed comfort.  I have been treated like a daughter of God and their beloved sister, so it is with great sadness that I must witness such obvious evil displayed for my church, my brethren, my sisters. However, there is also joy, for I have seen God work and he has brought to pass his eternal Plan of Salvation even in the midst of Babylon. Even with Satan’s army ready to take down God’s children, we passed Prop. 8-for that I have joy. I also know at the end of this trial, I shall be stronger.  I shall be able to withstand anything and stand for God. I will be blessed and I know more people will learn about the Church and join.  What Satan tried to use to destroy, God will use to restore! It won’t be the church that falls but those who seek to destroy Christ’s covenant people. We shall grow exponentially because of this, so thank you for bringing more to Christ. We couldn’t have done it without you.
