My Interview with Jon Greenspon

Published December 1, 2009 by blacknright

I recently did an online interview for Presidential candidate, Jon Greenspon. He is a member of A Black Conservative Digest (http://bit.ly/ABCD) and so I sent him some questions, I felt were important to conservatives. I will be posting the questions and answers and will do a rebuttal later.

1) Please give a brief statement about yourself, family and why you are running for President in 2012?
I was born in Los Angeles, California in 1964. Wendy, my wife, was born in Sacramento, California in 1973, and our daughter Emerald was born in Colorado in 2003. I am a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where I served as an enlisted member of the 1st Marine Battalion.
I am running for the Republican nomination for the 2012 Presidency because America needs a fresh start. Across our heartland, and into the urban sprawls, we’ve been watching – held captive as it were – to the predispositions of the “professional politicians”, and we can all see where this has led. American interests are not being served; they’re being handed down from on high, as it were. We have not had, in our last four presidents, an individual who truly placed the American citizen foremost – over politics of the day.
I’m running, because when we have a Congress busy behaving like a gaggle of toddlers on the first day of preschool – all fighting over the right to be sitting in the middle of the circle; we need a President who will stand for the “parents”, in this case – the citizens who are the rightful heirs to the decisions – and not be off on a global apology tour.

2) What experience do you have that you will be able to use to turn our country around?

I have served in the military and in private companies enough to understand that the shareholders, in this case the American people need both an advocate and a voice that they aren’t presently receiving in their elected representatives. I know what a deficit is, and that you CANNOT spend your way out.

Experience in life tells me that I am not a master of every subject, however I am smart enough to realize that political appointments cannot be made based upon the amount of contributions you receive from a group or individual. I cannot, in good conscience, consider appointing individuals to cabinet positions based upon anything other than merit – do they actually know the job at hand.

3) You don’t mention very many social issues on your presidential site, where do you stand on abortion and gay marriage?

I have friends that have had abortions, and I do have friends that are homosexual. These are very personal matters, not ones that belong to the general public, unless they the INDIVIDUAL decides to bring them up. In my personal opinion, these matters, if brought out of the house or local community, are best decided at the state level. I firmly believe in the 10

I do not agree with a Defense of Marriage Act (Public Law 104-199), nor do I agree with Roe vs. Wade (Supreme Court Case 410 US 113). The Congress had no authority in the passage of the first, and the States are reserved the right to determine actions within their borders on both counts – by the will of the people.

4) Education in our country is being taken over by liberal social engineers who wish to use the classroom for their social experiments instead of educating our children, what plans do you have to stop this and return the goal of schools to education and not liberal indoctrination?

Simply put, I’ll start by restructuring the Department of Education. My administration’s plan for Education is to see the Federal Department of Education serve as a meeting place for city, state, and community (family-based) understanding – it will cease to be a political indoctrination arm of the White House or any party agenda program.

5) What is the greatest threat you think America is facing today and how are you going to handle it?

That would depend on the determination from whether we are discussing within the US, or from outside.

Our greatest threat from within the United States exists in the social issue of apathy, which American’s are slowly coming out of. We have spent the last couple of decades operating under the “assumption ” that the Government will put itself in some predicament or another, and if we basically just leave it alone, the Government will correct itself. Well, in over four decades, we’ve learned that instead of correcting itself, the Government becomes a small collection of political despots – demonstrating that as power corrupts, we all suffer the consequences.

Outside of the United States, it’s been a waiting game. Since 1990, the world has been watching and casually testing America. The culmination of the prodding and poking at America was on September 11, 2001. Now America is waging an economic, environmental, and social battle of wits with foreign powers – and our current Government is poised to “let the chips fall”, creating a backslide that will damage America in many ways.

6) Do you plan to abolish the IRS and what is your view on the Federal Reserve Bank and whether it should be audited or completely eliminated or both?

I would be more than willing to disband the Internal Revenue Service, since it does not comply with Federal Law. The Constitution grants Congress the authority levy and collect taxes, not an agency of the Department of Treasury. Also, I believe the same statute in the Constitution PROHIBITS the use of outside collection agencies in recovering tax revenues. I also believe that the law should provide a requirement of an absolute two-thirds supermajority in both houses to increase taxes or amend tax codes.

I would expressly demand a full audit of the Federal Reserve System, both by the Treasury Department, and by an outside entity – independent of each other. Similarly, I would require the same of all entities operating under Title 5 of the US Code, governing independent agencies within the Federal Government. After the auditing of these agencies, I believe the American people should be given the opportunity to decide on their continued operation, or their dissolution.

7) Many people want to see Planned Parenthood completely defunded, will you stop taxpayer money from going to Planned Parenthood? And will you overturn the Mexico City that Obama reinstated that sends federal money overseas for abortions?

Planned Parenthood, as well as foreign funding of “family planning,” will never be part of any budget I authorize. I believe the best family planning atmosphere is within the home, not at the whim of the political system. Doctors, priests, and your parents or siblings should help in decisions such as these – not school nurses passing out contraceptives.

8) As a former Marine, I know you take the duty to defend our country seriously, how will you use your military background to ensure our safety here and abroad?

I believe that since one of the primary roles of the Presidency is that of Commander-in-Chief of our Armed Forces, it should be essential that that individual has an understanding of the military from the inside out. As long as we have “boots on the ground” anywhere in the world, I would see it as necessary to be briefed regularly (at least every few days) as to activities.

We cannot safeguard our country if our commander-in-chief is only receiving bi-weekly briefings, waiting to decide major operational changes so they don’t conflict with evening television programming, or pushing aside important meetings with command personnel because they conflict with a photo op.

I believe we need a military, both at the Federal and State levels, well trained in both conventional and non-conventional means of operations, but we also need a State Department trained and staffed with skilled diplomats. America should always look to its military as a last option, but ensure they are trained and equipped for the eventuality. I fully support the utilization of military personnel, in a limited capacity and operating in conjunction with the US Border Patrol, in the enforcement of our borders.

9) What is your view on amnesty for illegal aliens? Do you propose a guest worker program like Bush and how would you secure our borders to eliminate this mass immigration?

I do not agree with any concept of amnesty for persons who violate our country’s borders or laws. Article 1, Section 8 of our Constitution grants Congress the power to set UNIFORM laws of naturalization – not to grant amnesty for violating our immigration laws.

I seriously oppose any form of “guest worker” program, which in effect creates a second-class citizen approach to the labor market. Realistically, we need to finish our Border fence and start providing proper and adequate enforcement measures along our borders.

10) Personhood amendments are on the ballot for states like Nevada, Florida, Colorado and North Dakota to name a few, would you back such amendments and would you work to see a federal Personhood amendment passed?

I would support any such amendment. We are currently gathering signatures in Montana for that very purpose.

11) Fields vs. Palmdale School District is a classic case where parental rights were not respected. How will your administration make sure that parents are in charge of their children and not the state? There is also a Parental Rights amendment in the House with 131 co-sponsors, do you support that amendment?

I believe the best place to decide what’s right for your child is with you, and my Administration would put parent’s rights at the forefront of school decision. To be blunt, a Department of Education is supposed to assist the parents in quality education, not try to supplant the parent with a “social mindset”.

I fully support Jim DeMint’s and Pete Hoekstra’s Joint Resolution.

12) Health care – what are the problems and how can we fix those problems without dismantling the entire health care system?

By creating this “Universal Health Care” initiative, Congress is effectively trying to bankrupt the American people. I fully agree that our healthcare fees need to be brought back into a more reasonable frame of cost – But not at cost of killing our economy.

Realistically, the Federal Government has at its disposal the ability to correct part of the problem. The corrective measures, via the Department of Commerce, exist in that healthcare insurance is an INTERSTATE business, therefore regulated at the Federal level. By regulating the interstate rates, costs could be reduced across the board, providing affordability and portability. I think it would also be prudent to permit individuals to purchase coverage through health exchanges, or even purchase access to their state Medicaid program.

I do not agree in any way with providing medical benefits, other than necessary emergency services to those in our country illegally.

13) Lastly jobs – what are you going to do to create more jobs and severely reduce outsourcing of American jobs to other countries and to illegal aliens right here?

I think one of the greatest measures that could be utilized in creating more domestic jobs, and stemming the outsourcing of labor is a comprehensive overhaul of our bloated tax structure. There is absolutely no reason for individuals to pay upwards of 35% or more in taxes. I believe

in a complete repeal of estate and gift taxes, as taxes have already been paid on these by the original recipient.

Similarly, we should look at reducing corporate taxes on US businesses that are conducting more than 60% of operations within the US. A straightforward reduction would have the net effect of returning business to America, in return for a lower tax rate.

14) Any last thoughts, and tell us why we should vote for you.

As I have indicated on my website, I fully intend that the Congress be accountable to the people, and that includes a zero tolerance policy on markups, or unsustainable legislation. I will not engage in any budget discussions that does not decrease our deficit AND balance itself yearly. And I will not steal elected officials from their citizens by appointing them into Cabinet positions, and away from the responsibilities they were elected to uphold.

I have had two very important “heroes” in my life that have shaped my view of this country. The first was my Grandfather, a Pearl Harbor veteran, who pointed out to me at a young age that the most incredible thing about our liberty is that it’s everyone’s. Only here does someone have the same “soapbox” from John Doe to Bill Gates.

The second person who inspires me is Thomas Jefferson, a man who for all his incredible accomplishments, realized that America’s ultimate power was not in the Office of the President. America’s power lies within the American people. Jefferson demonstrates that with the fact that his position of 2nd President is NOT even reflected on his headstone.

All Ning Sites Are Down?

Published August 19, 2009 by blacknright

Ning's logoSo I go to check my Ning site, “A Black Conservative Digest” and it can’t be found. I go to Ning-nothing. I go to Smart Girls Politics, also down. I go to NO WE WON’T! want to guess if that was up? Nah, it was down too. So I am wondering, if Obama’s cyber czar who we know nothing about has decided we just don’t need Ning!

I mean Obama couldn’t been to happy with Gallup today when he read Obama readingthat Americans are more conservative in all fifty states than liberal. Maybe he thought too many of us were getting together sharing ideas, forming plans, educating each other and that just has to stop. Maybe it is just my computer and for whatever reason it is not picking up Ning sites. Or maybe it is just Ning acting a bit whacky. There are plenty of reasons not one Ning site is working but come on you liberals have conspiracy theories coming out the wazoo, this is mine.

Then again I went to George-Orwell.org and that didn’t come up. No 1984 for me.  I went to Online Literature and was told that site might harm my computer? Really? A Literature site-we all know how devious those literary people are! Ah man, I just unplugged my internet and plugged it back in, now my site is working. Just as I was working on a good conspiracy theory. Dang it! Well there are plenty of computer mishaps just waiting to happen and I am sure Obama will be responsible for at least a couple of them, I just have to wait and be patient.  I hate it when truth messes up a perfect good plot, but what are you going to do right?

The Rise of the Black Conservative

Published April 24, 2009 by blacknright

Being a Black conservative can be a lonely experience. You are told you are a sell out to your people. You are called a self-loathing Black person while the actual self-loathers seem to make their way unscathed. And sometimes it seems like you are the only Black person out there that feels this way then something happens-you start hearing about others.  The Star Parkers, the Larry Elders and Thomas Sowells and you go, “Oh my goodness! I am not the only one! I am not alone.”  But even as high profile as those people are, they are still overshadowed by the Jesse Jacksons, the Al Sharptons and the entire NBA!

But with the advent of Twitter, You Tube and other social networks like A Black Conservative DigestBlack conservatives are finding their own voice and creating their own media.  Two up and coming Black conservative voices to watch out for are Another Black Conservative and Conservative Like No Other. Both of them are on Blogspot and both of them are strong conservatives who unapologetically take on the liberal establishment.  Conservative Like No Other is a deeply devoted Christian woman who uses her blog to not only disspell the lies of the Left but to give glory to Jesus Christ.  She is not the kind of person to passively accept things, I know this because when she joined ABCD she set up three groups and made several comments on various posts.  That tells me she is not one to sit on the sidelines but to get involved and make a difference.

Another Black Conservative is also very much a man who wants to change things and when he read my story on there he responded with concern and compassion.  When I read their blogs,  I had to invite them to join. They are both intelligent and speak with conviction. They represent the best the Black conservative movement has to offer and there are others like them out there. From Zo of MachoSauce Productions who has made dozens of videos depicting his conservative stance to Ron Miller, another ABCD member, Blacks are no longer bowing down the liberal establishment and are fighting back. Ron has run for office even knowing he faced greater opposition then most Black politicians running.  He talks about his trepidation in going to Black churches to get his message out on ABCD-must read for any Black conservative entering the political foray.

So what will become of the rising Black conservative movement? Will we see a re-emergence of Black conservatism like we did with the Civil Rights movement.  (If you don’t think the Civil Rights movement was conservative then think again.  It was a God-based movement, based on obtaining access to the political process and economic empowerment.  Sounds conservative to me!)  If Conservative Like No Other and Another Black Conservative are any indication, the Black conservative is  going to have some staying power.

Blacks started out Republican and now are returning to their roots, while others are going for much more substantially conservative parties like the American Indpendent Party and the Constitutiton Party. When those parties take off and become true third parties-it will be because the Black conservative made it so.  Don’t look the Black conservative to be loyal to the Republican party if they can’t be loyal to the platform. We are used to be the outsiders and so we have no problem jumping ship and joining a party that more closely matches our values. If we can leave the Democrats high and dry, we can leave anyone else.

We will not be ignored anymore! We are here and we will not sit in the back of the bus any longer! God bless all those Black conservatives who know the sting of alienation, well you are not alone any longer.  And we stand by those who stand for freedom.

Dr. King: A Legacy Divided

Published April 13, 2009 by blacknright

silent-majority-no-more1

With the Tea Party coming up on Wednesday and the ever disgraceful invader’s amnesty rally coming up on May 1st, both sides of the political spectrum are using Dr. King to further their cause.  However, which side does Dr. King represent the best and is closer to the truth of who the man was?

Many might say well like the invaders (oops illegal immigrants) Dr. Kingdr-king fought for full citizenship within America.  There is a difference though- DR. KING WAS A CITIZEN!!!! He had no time entered this country illegally, gotten a false social security card and applied for government benefits with his false identity!  Dr. King was simply asking to be treated like the citizen he already was! For instance, the 13th amendment ended slavery and the 15th made it legal for us to vote. Therefore, what was going on during King’s time had already been clarified within the Constitution-specifically-and yet they were ignoring the Constitution and barring Blacks from voting.  King was fighting for a right that had already been granted him!  Since illegals are not citizens of this country they are not entitled to any rights under the Constitution! However, the Tea Party people are also fighting for rights AS CITIZENS that they have already been granted. They are not asking for money or benefits.  In fact,  many cities and states are rejecting the stimulus money from Obama because it comes with too big a price tag! They are tellingthe government they need to reel in this out of control spending.  So the Tea Party movement is more like King in this instance.  Tea Party-1,  Illegals-0.

scales-of-justiceThe invaders movement says that King ignored unjust laws and used civil disobedience.  King at no time broke federal laws.  The laws about public access for Blacks were localized laws.  He never committed fraud in the name of obtaining the American dream.  Not only that King was willing to sit in jail and suffer the consequences of breaking the law.  The invaders aren’t! They think they should be able to break them and not be held accountable for breaking them. King always went quietly when he was arrested.  He used his time wisely in jail, penning “A Letter from the Birmingham Jail.”  Not “A Letter from the Birmingham Penthouse.”  He had been stabbed, had police dogs unleashed on him, had fire hoses turned on him, has his house firebombed, and yet he continued to go and press on. Show me one invader activist who has gone through those trials? Just one! In fact, just by being here the invaders are already breaking the law. The Tea Party people are not.  When permits are  pulled, they find another place.  They are doing everything by the book but are using their first amendment right to redress the government about its irresponsible behavior.  Score-Tea Party-2, Illegals-0.

A last ditch effort at trying to equate King to them is inevitably the race malcolm-xcard. Well, King was Black he understood what it is like to be a minority in this country.  Yea…..and?  The thing about the Tea Party movement is that it crosses all lines,  all colors, all economic classes, all parties. Everyone is fed up with the government taxing the people into oblivion until our grandchildren’s grandchildren still won’t be able to pay it off! The invaders are limited in their scope, only illegal Mexicans.  While the Tea Party wants everyone, no matter what their color, what their sex, what their religion, what their “sexual orientation,” we embrace anyone who wants their voice to be heard on Capitol Hill.  King was about embracing everyone,   Jew and Gentile, Black and White and wanted everyone to have the same freedoms. He also wanted the government to stand acountable to the people.  King was a Republican and if alive today, I believe he would stand more with the Tea Party and their ideas of limited government, personal responsibility and freedom to worship God as you see fit.  While having compassion for the immigrant, he sure wouldn’t approve of their tactics.  He didn’t approve of Malcolm X’s by any means necessary ideology and I don’t believe he would approve of the invader’s use of it  either. He felt the violent militancy of Malcolm did more to harm our cause then to help it, I can’t see him changing his view about that today.  Score: Tea Party-3   Illegals-0

So there you go,  King’s legacy doesn’t live on in the rabble of the invaders movement but in the thoughtful, rightful protest of the citizens of this land. It lives on in the Tea Party movement.  It lives on at Smart Girl Politics,  A Black Conservative Digest and other grass roots efforts to get this country back to its conservative roots.  One last thought, when King was alive 60 percent of Black children were raised in two parent homes. Nowadays 60 percent of Black children are slaughtered in the womb! Is this really the progress King stood for? I think not! King’s Dream lives in the heart of all conservatives and it is being slaughtered by the liberal establishment, it is time we all woke up because his dream is fast becoming a nightmare.

Tea Party Sponsor Joins A Black Conservative Digest!

Visit A Black Conservative Digest

One of the main sponsors for the Tax Day Tea Party is Americans for Limited Government and Carter L. Clews, who handles the press inquiries for them, has joinedA Black Conservative Digest Carter has also been the executive director of Laptop America (formerly Laptop Lobbyist) in fact, he is the one who discovered me and had me writing for Laptop America.

Bryan Malatesta who took over Laptop America after Carter’s bryan-malatestadeparture and now runs The American Ideal is also a member of A Black Conservative Digest.  Bryan heads the Constitution Party for his state, which is perfect because no one has tried to educate the public more about the Constitution and what it says and doesn’t say more than Bryan.

These are two, hard-working, patriotic men who are trying desperately to save this country from the impending communistic regime.  We all have to work together to make sure we maintain our basic freedoms.  Most people who are not Black are put off that is A Black Conservative Digest but I figure if 40 million White people can vote for Obama then they shouldn’t have any problem joining A Black Conservative Digest (ABCD).

ABCD was started to give Black conservatives  a place to have their voice heard but the true keyword in that title is conservative, not Black. Anyone who supports conservatism, no matter what color, religion, sex or any other difference can join. ABCD is for anyone who supports Black conservatives because let’s face it, we don’t get a lot of love in our own community. So come one, come all and let’s get more Americans, but especially Blacks who have been duped by leftists, to see the light!

Black Outreach Coordinator for Smart Girl Politics

There is a growing conservative women’s movement and at the forefront of it is a very grassroots organization called Smart Girl Politics. Dena Leichnitz (ME!!!!) has been named as the Black Outreach Coordinator for Smart Girl Politics.

You can find them on the Ning network and already they have over two hundred members, they even have a smaller offshoot called Smart Guys Politics. They also have 14 other groups to join under their umbrella site.  It is a great network with great women and definitely something every conservative woman needs to check out.

Don’t forget to also check out my Ning network  as well. It is a place where Black conservatives and their supporters can come and share their experience, strength and hope with each other.  You can also follow me on Twitter. See you guys around cyberspace.
