A Homeless Woman and the Woman’s M

On December 15, I walked into the Union Rescue Mission. The place was full of of people I have tried to keep my son away from all my life, drug addicts, derelicts, etc and here I was bringing him into this nightmare. There wasn’t enough beds so a group of us had to sleep in a day room on air mattresses. This is my new life, my new existence. Which includes waking up at 5:30 to eat a breakfast, few if anyone ever eats. It is a world where mothers get their children taken away in the middle of the night and the kids are left to run around during the day with nothing to do. It is a world filled with anguish, tears and the occasional saint who wouldn’t take no for an answer and gave my son a coat that he needed. This is a world of women. No men except the young men who live here with their mothers. This is what the women’s march should have been about. I was literally a few blocks from this march and all the signs had nothing to do real problems women face.

It was literally like walking through the gates of hell. The signs had nothing to do with actual problems that affect women just the right to kill their babies and the right to have sex without having to deal with any consequences that may occur because of their decision. At the Women’s March there were 750,000 people. Yet despite having so many people, none of the real problems women face were all but ignored. None of the women here were at the rally. Instead they were buying clothes for their baby. Or they were asleep on the cold shelter floor because getting sleep during the night is almost impossible. None of the women here felt any of the woman dressed up as vaginas were speaking on their behalf.

The whole thing was a joke. From Madonna stating that she wanted to blow up the White House, to the women dressed up as our reproductive parts and the vulgarity that was widespread, these women were not about trying to secure justice for the real oppressed women around the world. They were mocking those of us who deal with these struggles, here and abroad. This was nothing but a grotesque, pro-choice rally being held in the Los Angeles. But it is understandable why they didn’t want to help us women with children because they are intent on killing their own and living a hedonistic life. They have no spirit of service within them but are totally self-serving. I literally felt sick as I made my way through the crowd. I was on my way to buy baby clothes with a friend of mine who lives at the shelter, and while were muddling our way through all we saw were signs that spouted rhetoric like “P***y grabbers” and other obscene material.

As I sat in a woman’s meeting today, we discussed what were going through in our individual.I brought up how they had a woman’s march and we weren’t mentioned. They were not getting our message out to the people who may not know it. No one debated me. Not one! You want a woman’s march, then come talk to the women here! Go to Saudi Arabia and talk the women there. Go to Boko Haram territory, where they are killing more people, especially women, than ISIS and talk to the women there! The war they speak about is not in Beverly Hills. It is at 545 San Pedro and everywhere else women are falling through the cracks!

Women Betrayed Footage

As I told all of you yesterday I attended the Women Betrayed rally. This is footage from it and I am the  Black woman waving the sign as soon as the video opens. It was really a great experience and it really revved me up to do as much as I can for the pro-life movement. And as much as the focus is about the children, not the individuals within the movement, it is still nice to be on television and FOX News no less. LOL

D-Day Is Coming

American troops in an LCVP landing craft appro...

Image via Wikipedia

On June 6, 1944 the Allied troops landed on the shores of Normandy, France and changed the course of World War II.  Up to that time, the war had taken a toll on the American resolve.  We had entered the war December 7, 1941 after the bombing of our naval base on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

During this time, we saw rationing of rubber, sugar and other such necessities for wartime use.  However, the Normandy invasion or D-Day changed the course of the war and the course of human history. The war would end within the year.  I give you the history in order for you to  understand the upcoming D-Day.  My great hope is it too will change the course of human history.  For too long the disabled of this world have been met with scorn, ridicule, contempt and pity. This May we will change how people think about those with disabilities.

I am the Senator of Disabled Students Affairs at Los Angeles City College and I am determined to see that the war that the Left has perpetuated on the disabled population does not go unanswered.  For far too long we have had a false sense of compassion for those who have physical, emotional or other various disabilities and told them they are not capable of having a “normal” life.  Outside of abortion, there has been no bigger lie that people have believed than that one.

So join me in speaking out for those who are the most vulnerable who sometimes can’t speak for themselves, but if you can, if you are disabled and are tired of feeling like you have to apologize for simply being who you are then come join me at Los Angeles City College and make your voice heard! This is our D-Day, this is the day we will win the war against the bigotry of the disabled!

Fighting the Progressives

Luck Just Kissed You Hello

Image by Baby's In Black via Flickr

I often wonder how a group of people that are so dead set against progress could ever call themselves “progressive.” Most  progressives are very much anti-progress even when that progress actually agrees with them on another and supposedly more important issue.

Let’s take the Bus Riders Union here in Los Angeles. These  people are the bane of my existence. The Bus Riders Union is the main reason I hate unions (well them and LAUSD but that is another story altogether)  because they have no concern for the people they are supposedly helping.  Let’s take a look at some of their initiatives.

One of them is called: 1000 more buses, 1000 less police!

Mayor Villaraigosa: More Police Is Not a Progressive Vision for L.A.

Hiring 1000 additional police officers has become a top city budget priority under Mayor Villaraigosa. In 2008, the Mayor announced he was halfway to keeping his campaign pledge of 1000, even as he was moving to cut $100 million from the city budget.

1000 More Buses, 1000 Less Police calls on the Mayor to make a complete U-turn to fund social services, not criminalization.

Are you kidding me with this? According to a July 2008 report from the U.S Census Department there are 9,862,049 people inLos Angeles County alone. That is not taking into account the other 57 counties with the entire state of California. We are the eighth largest economy in the WORLD (California) and you want to put people’s lives at risk by decreasing the police force? Are you insane? I am sorry if I had to choose between buses and police I am choosing police! Even if  have to walk everywhere!

Then there is this little beaut:

We know the Mayor does advocate some progressive policies and has taken some good stands on some issues. But expanding the police/prison state is not the only step he is taking to endanger the social welfare state.

And there you go people! Right there the truth comes out! It is not about protecting people or giving people a chance to succeed on their own, it is about having the welfare state stay firmly intact and keeping the minority population dependent on them! Now remind me again, what does any of this have to do with lousy bus service? Absolutely nothing because it is not about getting better and improved transportation in Los Angeles. It is not about getting a rail system that will service everyone, rich and poor. It is not about cleaning up the graffiti on the buses, or having better security to protect the riders. It is about a socialist agenda and nothing else.

In fact according to a report by Metro that dealt with a public  hearing on various transportation issues facing Metro people did want more trains and not more buses!

This comes from a man named Gary Guth who was at one of these hearings:

MR. GUTH:  Hello, my name is Gary. I want the Wilshire Purple Line extended all the way to the ocean, please. I believe that’s the project that the money should be worked on, and that will allow anybody from the Valley that wants to go to the beach have access to it.  And MTA is too slow in completing these projects. How long is it going to take to duplicate all the street car routes that we had in 1961 that were ended, that you guys took away and took that private company out of business? Will it take 100 years? We won’t be able to enjoy it in the audience here.

The irony of all this is that the Bus Rider Union acts like they care about the environment, yet they don’t want trains that are faster, more efficient and don’t leave that dreaded carbon emissions that cause “global warming.” Why is that? Shouldn’t they be fighting to get the trains  up and running faster instead of keeping us chained to antiquated buses? Again, they fight progress.

As you can see the Bus Riders Union is a fraud and doesn’t speak for the people who actually depend on not only the buses to get around but the very limited rail system that needs to be expanded not killed. Progressives are never for real progress and it is time we show these socialists that they will not continue to keep us stuck in the “social welfare state.” That we will  not be their pawns. That we will rise against their tyranny and that of the government that drags its feet in getting us a functioning and thriving public transportation system! It is time we formed our own coalition and fought the both of them!

Medical Marijuana Ordinance To Be Passed in Los Angeles

Ah don’t you love it when potheads get vocal? There are already activists waiting to sue the city for enacting an ordinance that will tightly regulate the medical marijuana dispensaries that have popped up since California legalized medical marijuana.  Though I will admit I am confused, considering marijuana-medical or not-is still an illegal drug under federal law I don’t know how we are able to have any sort of marijuana dispensary at all, even with the 10th amendment granting state sovereignty. After all, it does say state laws can’t contradict federal laws. That aside, Los Angeles decided it was time to crack down on the growing number of dispensaries.

Medical Marijuana Ordinance passes in Los Angeles

Ed Reyes-LA City Councilmember

Ed Reyes of the 1st district of Los Angeles is the one who brought the plan forth to more strictly regulate the medical marijuana dispensaries. It is amazing how liberals are always for regulation as long as they don’t have to be regulated.  They don’t want accountability for abortion clinics, medical marijuana dispensaries or anything that involves sex workers (aka whores) or needle exchange  programs  but if I want to put up a Nativity scene on my own property at Christmas time-well that needs to be regulated!

Bernard Parks-LA City Councilmember

Now I am not fool enough to believe that Ed Reyes is a conservative Republican but  he is taking on an unpopular cause and that says something about him.  The people who have opposed the bill according the Los Angeles Time article by John Hoeffel are Bernard Parks, Jan Perry and Bill Rosendahl.  According to Hoeffel they voted against the ordinance both times.

With the ordinance set to pass the activists are getting ready to sue, but the Council is prepared for that according to the Times article Reyes is reported as saying:

We tried to interpret the state law for the way it was written,” he said.  The law will not take effect until the City Council approves the fees that dispensaries will have to pay to cover the cost of registration, a process that could take at least another 30 days, according to city officials.

I don’t think the City has a whole lot to worry about,  I am sure all the activists will be too high and too busy munching on Cheetos and Reese’s peanut butter cups to make any of the appointed court dates should it get to that point.  And you have just got to love this line from the same article:

“The smoke should clear six months from the effective date of the ordinance,” she [Special Assistant City Atty. Jane Usher] said.

An interesting choice of words indeed. LOL  Many landlords will have to find new places to set up shop, they cannot within a 1,000 yards of schools, libraries or residential homes or other “sensitive places.”  They also can’t turn a profit (so why have a dispensary in the first place?) and there are other restrictions on the dispensaries as well.  They think that a third of them will have to shut down but that has some groups very happy.

Many neighborhoods complain of crime associated with the dispensaries and don’t want them in their neighborhoods.  So it will be interesting to see where this goes, though I know who I am rooting for and it is not the weed dealers. It is good to see that these people are fighting back and taking back their communities! God bless you and keep up the good fight!

Evacuations Ordered for Southern California

By now areas of Acton, Flintridge, La Canada and other adjoining cities have had Sherriffs knock on their door and told they must leave.  La Canada is actually a hair’s breadth from where I was raised in Altadena, so while I have great empathy for those in Haiti, this hits a lot closer to home, these are my neighbors right in my own backyard.

The rains have been coming down almost torrentially during these last three days and are expected to last this entire week.  We have even had tornados out here.  Earthquakes we know. Floods are old familiar foes, fires are second nature, but tornadoes? What is this? Kansas? I don’t think so.  This is from the CNN Weather Center:

A rare tornado warning was issued Tuesday afternoon for southeastern Orange County, including the cities of Mission Viejo and San Clemente, and northwestern San Diego County, including the cities of Oceanside and Carlsbad. The National Weather Service said radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado.

http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/weather/01/19/california.storms/?hpt=Sbin

People are expected  to be out of their houses until the 25th.  Because of the fires last year, they are expecting heavy debris flow and are evacuating people as a precautionary measure.

Echoes of Katrina can be heard in the press conferences as the authorities tell everyone “When we come knocking, you need to cooperate and evacuate.”  Afraid of another New Orleans where people refused to move from their homes the authorities kept reiterating that sentiment. However, they needn’t be so afraid, unlike New Orleans and Haiti where Nature seemed to target the poorest population who have nowhere to go, out in California, it tends to be the middle class and ultra rich who get targeted with mudslides, floods, fires and the like.  Therefore they are more likely to listen to the authorities because they have a few more resources at their disposal then the Katrina/Haiti crowd do.  [Maybe that is Nature’s way of balancing the scales I don’t know but I do know this in terms of natural disaster the safest place for a poor person to live and survive it is California. ]

This is expected to be the heaviest rainfall in 5 years and once again it is being blamed on El Nino but to be fair, El Nino is like the stepchild of the weather world, if anything remotely bad can be attributed to wind or rain, you bet El Nino is going to hear about it.  In any case, I hope all those who are being affected by Mother Nature’s bad mood will be alright. And if these rains last 40 days and 40 nights I would get right with God real quick!

Conservative Student is Not Welcomed in LACC’s ASO

q1592684838_9225Ah the beauty of blogging! If I can’t get anyone else to tell my story then I can always do it myself. So here it goes:

I recently applied for a Senate position with my school’s Associated Student Organization (ASO).  I was called back to interview and I got the run around.  The person who would be conducting the interview was James Butler Zatino. He is the current president of ASO and does wield considerable influence in the process.  After playing phone tag, after trying to track him down I finally get an interview.  The interview goes pretty well, with my nervousness I do fumble a little but I recover overall. He asks me if the position I wanted was not open would I be willing to accept another one. I tell him yes. So I hear back from him and he says,  these are the positions available and for me to pick one.  He tells me to come back later that day at about 1 to let him know what position I picked. I get there and he is not there.  So I leave a message telling him what position I picked.  I run into him later and let him know I want the Senator at large position and that is when it all falls apart.

I am asked straight out, what is my political position? I tell him that I am asologoconservative and he winces as if I actually stabbed him or committed some other violent act against him.  He asks me how to conservative, so I jokingly tell him “I make Rush Limbaugh look like a flaming liberal.”  He then tells me, “Well you are going to have to represent all the students.” I tell him, “I don’t have a problem with that but though I will represent the liberal students I will not tell the conservative students who come to me that I am not going to listen to them or that their voice can’t be heard as well.” Well that doesn’t fly with him.

cornerI was supposed to be appointed the following week. He doesn’t show up and no one can find my paper work so it is going to have to wait until the following week. Then yesterday right before I was to get appointed I get two calls. One tells me appointments are being postponed and then the other telling me they have gone with someone else.

It was then that I went to the Dean of Student Life at Los Angeles City College and filed a complaint.  I am also in the process of talking to http://www.campusreform.org about the situation. I will also be heading to my school paper to let them know what is going on.  This should not be tolerated.

The thing is I don’t have embrace liberal ideology to be able to represent the students as a whole in the Senate.  Just like they don’t have to embrace my conservative ideology.  The thing is that they want a yes man, someone will just go along for the ride and not make any waves. Well they are not going to get that in me. I can represent all students because  I will listen to all students and take the best ideas from them and run with them.  But they just want a liberal parrot.  I wasn’t going to lie or downplay my conservatism. I feel they should know exactly who they are they getting  and if this was a club on campus like the Liberal Lions or some other club that pretty much catered to only liberal minded students then that is one thing. But you can’t say you represent the student population when you clearly do not!

This is not also the first time something like this has happened to me.  I was up for an internship during August. It was a paid internship. I would be helping to recruit students and organizing events. To show my experience in organizing political events-though truth be told they were small-I told them about my work with Silent No More Awareness Campaign and the male professor on the committee who is a political science professor-laid into me. “Well we are pretty far left do you think you could promote our agenda?”  He went from “pretty far left” to “extremely left” to trying to bait me about my abortion views. He was antagonistic and all in pretty obnoxious and I was glad I wouldn’t have to be working with this man. With his hostile attitude I thought they might be staging a coup d’etat or something. The fellow student I would’ve been working with was nice,  friendly and even if he was “extremely left” he had the common decency not to display any such obnoxious and unprofessional behavior! He was definitely a class act which is more than I can say for that professor! I don’t remember his last name but his first name was Zack and I am sorry I didn’t have a chance to work with him, I think we could’ve learned a lot from each other.

Things need to change at LACC and while I don’t think I am entitled to any position, I do think  it is unfair to be offered the position and then have it withdrawn, for no other reason then they don’t like my politics.  Well you know what ASO and Professor Hateful, I don’t like yours either! And if you think you are going to get away with treating students so abominably-you got another think coming!
