“Whig”in Out: The Demise of the Republican Party

Ask the average person do you know about the Whig Party and you will get a blank stare. They don’t know about it because it doesn’t exist anymore. That’s another thing the average person doesn’t understand political parties are not forever nor were they meant to be. In fact, our founding fathers though the very ideas of parties were repugnant and a barrier to the democratic republic they built.

georgewashington

George Washington

In George Washington’s Farewell Address he warned his fellow Americans about the dangers of political parties. He said, “The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism.” He claimed the partisanship would lead to inter-political conflict, divide the nation, and give rise to cases of tyranny.

First Party System

This is ironic given by the time he gave this speech he did belong to a political party, the Federalists, though he did not initially belong to any party when he became President. A whole encyclopedia could be done on the party system in this country, starting off with the First Party system, where we find the Federalists and Democratic-Republicans to the Second Party system where we find The Whigs, Free Soilers, Know Nothings, Democrats, and Republicans.

James Madison

4th President-James Madison

While James Madison, the Father of the Constitution, also warned of the downfall of factions, it nonetheless didn’t stop them from growing. “All civilized societies would be divided into different sects, factions, and interests, …of rich and poor, debtors and creditors, … the inhabitants of this district or that district, the followers of this political leader or that political leader, the disciples of this religious sect or that religious sect. In all cases where a majority are united by a common interest or passion, the rights of the minority are in danger.”  His political party? The Democratic-Republicans.

Political parties

These facts are important to know because with the nomination of Donald Trump to the Republican party and the mass dissatisfaction he has brought with him, it won’t be long until the third party takes off in this country.

The Whigs-Who Were They?

In the textbook, Created Equal: The Social and Political History of the United States it states: “The Whigs, a coalition anti-Jackson forces, sought to craft an economic program that would appeal to the largest number of voters. Less concerned with the purity of their ideas than with success at the ballot box, the Whigs saw their policies as means to winning elections and not necessarily as ends in themselves.” (pg. 390)

Does that sound like any party you know? More concerned with success at the ballot box than the purity of ideas. Obviously, that idea didn’t work.According to the same textbook, “The choices offered by the whigs and Democrats failed to represent what many groups saw as their pressing political and economic interest. Many Americans  turned to violence to advance or defend their causes.” (ibid)

Again does this sound like the Republican party? Failing to represent what many saw as their pressing political and economic interest? The Republican party consistently ignores their base and focuses on “winnable” issues, this sort of neglect is what led people to leave the Whig party and join the Republican party in the first place, but they have seemed to have forgotten their history.

What the Whigs Became

The Whig Party lasted 20 years, from 1834-1854. From the Whigs, we had four presidents-William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, Zachary Taylor and Millard Fillmore. From the book, The Missouri Compromise and its Aftermath we are told: “On its face, this would seem to suggest that the strict constructionist viewpoint represented the consistent and scrupulous position claimed by its adherents, founded purely on traditional Whig distrust of power and unfettered government tendency towards consolidation and corruption.”

Therefore, the party that was started to fight corruption in a short 20 years became corrupt itself. Whatever their problems with “Old Hickory” at the beginning of their regime, would not be enough to save it at the end when the other parties started forming. The Whigs had real power in their heyday and I am sure many told them, it was futile to have these other parties because they were not going to beat the Whig party, but that didn’t stop them from trying. Today, people say the same thing, the Democrats and Republicans are just too strong, a third party will never work. Well, there hasn’t been enough upset people to make it work, but today there are.

The Encyclopaedia Brittanica states: “In 1840 they abandoned the sectional approach to nominate the military hero William Henry Harrison. The subsequent contest was devoid of issues, Harrison winning on the basis of incessant electioneering by his supporters in the “log cabin” campaign.”

Whig Party

As you can see the issues became less and less important as time went by, and because of this,  people became violently opposed to the Whig Party and that is where the Republican Party finds itself today.

Conclusion

The Republican Party has a great and long history. It was the party responsible for ending slavery, segregation and has been a beacon hope and equality but it has stopped caring about those things and has become corrupt. It has become the Whigs where it cares more about its image and electioneering than it does about its base voters.

In my political science classes at UCLA, it was often discussed,  that politicians seek to bring in the independent voters because they know they base will never leave them. They are wrong, though! I always knew they were wrong. You cannot disregard the base and expect them to stick around. The Whigs have proved that and now the Republican party is proving them once again. The base can only take so much before they let you know in no uncertain terms that you have lost them and you have lost them for good. If the Christian base leaves the Republican party, it will never recover and no amount of “independent” voters are going to change it. Because “independent” voters make their decisions by polls not morals and the minute it becomes problematic to be a Republican they are out.

The Republicans have “Whig”ed out and now it won’t be long until they are part of the ash heap of history.

The Oreo Complex: Why Blacks Are Failing

Before I get into my article, I want to say the following: All Blacks are not failing. There are more Blacks in college than they are in prison, though the Liberal Left would have you think otherwise. The youngest Black female doctor is 23-year-old Ava Roberts.  We had the world’s best neurosurgeon, a Black man, run for the Presidency. Although Mr. Ben Carson didn’t win the nomination he did show the world, you can Black, male and Republican. So this article is not meant to bash the Black community but to illustrate while we do have successes to speak, we also have some overwhelming failures that need addressing.

Oreo cookiesOne of the biggest failures that lead to the destabilization we see in the Black community is the Oreo complex. The Oreo complex, for those who haven’t heard of it, is not the compulsion to eat Oreo cookies addictively, but the opinion found in the Black community that if you better yourself, if you don’t stay in the ghetto, if you get an education (this being the most important factor in the complex) or don’t listen to rap then you are acting White and therefore not really Black.

MichelleAlexander1-620x300

Michelle Alexander

Education is an extremely important part of this complex because people will often talk down college to those who want to attend: They do this by spreading the myth that there are more Black men in prison than they are in colleges. A myth that is spread by authors, like Michelle Alexander in her 2010 book, “The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness” On page 190, it read:  “The impact of the new caste system is most tragically  felt among the young.  In Chicago (as in other cities across the United States) young, Black men are more likely to go to prison than to college:”

CDC picYet that is far being the truth. In fact, ” According to the U.S. Census, about 18,508,926 people in the U.S. population are Black males, of all ages. In 2013, 1,437,363 were enrolled in college, according to the National Center for Educational Statistics.  As of the middle of 2013, there were 219,660 Black males were in local jails, and 526,000 Black males were in state or federal prison, totaling about 745,000 behind bars, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics’ National Prisoner Statistics Program. So about 13 percent of the entire Black male population is in college. It may not sound impressive, but remember we are only 13 percent of the population and the 18 million is for all Black males, including newborns, 5-year-olds, and 16-year-olds, etc. if we were to exclude of them that number would be much higher. Yet the Left and those with Oreo complex continue to spread the myth as if it were the Gospel Truth.

Thug LifeThe reason for doing so is capitalism at its worst. It is a way to make money while keeping people in poverty. It is a way to legitimize the “Thug Life” and make it seem like you are being punished simply for participating in what should be an acceptable and legal line of work, usually drug dealing. Michelle Alexander spends a lot of the book talking about the War on drugs specifically and not just mass incarceration in general. If you read Michelle’s book you get the feeling most Blacks are or will become criminals within the course of their lifetime. So if this what life is like for Blacks why not simply go out and do it? You are going to be punished for it one way or the other, you might as well have done the crime. Whatever Michelle think she is doing, she is actually laying the groundwork for additional Black people to be incarcerated not less.

clausen-swapI attended a conference at Los Angeles City College where Michelle Alexander was the speaker. I couldn’t stomach much of her speech and ended up leaving but I found quite odd she would go to a college, to talk to a room full of Black people about Blacks not going to college. Strange indeed, that was in 2010 when her book first came out. This past week, though, I went to a seminar on how to get in the UCs. (Universities of California, there about 9 total). They had three speakers and of course, I gave my story in bits and pieces as well. The room was full but still there were less than 100 people in attendance. It was being put on by a Black church, West Angeles Church, one of the largest Black churches in Los Angeles and as happy as I was to see people coming out for this, it saddened me there wasn’t more.

White graduateThere wasn’t more because Blacks don’t see college as an option. While some of it has to do with finance and thinking they cannot afford to go college, a lot more of it is just the general mindset that college is for White folks and I don’t belong there. They feel they don’t belong there because the Michelle Alexanders of the world keep telling them they don’t. But for every Michelle Alexnder, there is a Deacon John H. Wilson, who is telling them that they do. Not only is he telling them, he is also showing them how to do it. He is helping them study for their SATs. He has even invited me to help the adults in his church also go back to school. If we are going to fix this Oreo complex, it is going to be through the efforts of Deacon Wilson and men like him.

Wes Moore

Wes Moore

But it is going to take a lot of Deacon Wilsons to change this historical aversion to education. Education is not only for the non-Black people of the world, it is for the Wes Moores as well. Wes Moore is” a Rhodes Scholar, a decorated veteran, White House fellow and a business leader.” [The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates] In his book, he writes about his life and another Wes Moore that grew up just blocks from him. While he grew up to be the above, the other Wes Moore grew up to be a murderer. Yet while the Oreo people will extol Wes Moore-the murderer, they will run down Wes Moore-the Rhodes Scholar.

Wes paints a compassionate picture of his namesake. Even he wonders how two boys with similar backgrounds and grew up blocks from each other came out on the opposite ends of the spectrum. While compassion is a noble virtue, it becomes a fatal flaw when we use it to paint prison life as heroic and ultimately inevitable. While Wes Moore is careful not to make that mistake, the Black community at large, is not. We are failing because we are not educating ourselves. After hundreds of years fighting for it, after Little Rock Nine and the Board of Education vs. Topeka, after all, the deaths and all the struggles we are throwing it away.

The Oreo complex is not just a cultural thing it is a familial thing, it reaches down to the very core of the Black community-the Black family.”Some of my black besties have had to contend with that themselves–because they DARED to work themselves out of the “ghetto” and get an education and a career!  In some cases, their own relatives treat them like dirt for being “uppity” while still trying to take from them everything they’ve earned.” This quote by Lee Walker demonstrates that whether you are Black or not, that the aversion to education is so apparent that no steps are taken to hide it or downplay it. It is out there for everyone to observe. And observe they do. They observe the devastation that comes from not being educated.

dr-king-praying1My people love to talk about Dr. King but the title doctor is not some cute colloquialism that he called himself. Martin Luther King, Jr had a Ph.D. so why don’t they talk about that? Do you love Beloved by Toni Morrison? Well, Toni has her bachelor’s from Howard University and she also taught there! Can’t get enough of Mos Def? Well, he graduated from NYU! Then there are people like Deva, a Black 18-year-old girl with Down Syndrome, who is graduating high school WITH HONORS!!! You can beat there are no Oreos in Deva’s family. The truth is we can do this. We can become the great people we once were. We only need to educate ourselves.

Charlie Minn Comes to LACC

Charlie Minn made his debut at LACC last night during the Legal Association’s weekly meeting. He was there to talk about his new film chronicling the 1990 murders at the La Cruces Bowling Alley that left 4 dead and 3 others wounded.  Of the four that died, three of them were children. One was two, one was six and was a teenage girl.

Charlie talks about the profound effect the crime had on him while watching a re-enactment on Unsolved Mysteries starring Robert Stack. He was horrified at the brutality of the crime because children were involved. To execute children takes a special kind of monster in my opinion.

Charlie was originally a sportscaster who turned filmmaker.  He shared that a pro athlete he knows in the course of his work as a sportscaster has been primarily responsible for getting the film made.  Not your typical fundraising venue, definitely.  Charlie has been working to promote this film nonstop since the beginning of the year. After its premiere  on May 14, 2010 at the Beverly Center he will go to Western New Mexico and debut it there.

Alongside of him, working on distribution is Stephen Silvestrini, who was integral in getting the word out about this important documentary.  (Sorry the picture is so dark, didn’t seem so dark on my camera.)  Both Charlie and Stephen have been working tirelessly to promote this picture. Stephen and our own Andrea Bari seemed to hit it off instantly (maybe it is that shared Italian ancestry they have going)  and Andrea was nice enough to tell them about my blogging and internet skills! What a sweetie! So we will see what will come of that.

Charlie spoke with passion about the crime  and wanting to get justice for those involve but you could sense that he would rather be behind the camera than doing public speaking. However, he was knowledgeable about the crime and answered all our questions.  Charlie appeared on an episode of  “America’s Most Wanted” about six weeks back and John Walsh gave him credit for reinvigorating interest in the 20 year old murder mystery.

The trailer was quite powerful and I believe it is a movie not to be missed. The actual victims were instrumental in the entire process. Charlie said they were hesitant at first but when they saw that he genuinely wanted to help them catch the murderers they came on board. If you want to see the trailer go to http://www. bowlingmassacre.com

It is playing at the Beverly Center 13 for a week during the following times:  5:30pm, 7:45pm and 10:05pm. With all the junk we are willing to pay ten bucks for, we should give our support to this very important documentary that is truly an independent endeavor and a creation of passion for justice.  Charlie had no connection to the case, yet he felt compelled to see it solved-that kind of determination deserves to be rewarded. Of course the greatest reward that could come from this film is someone comes forth and identifies the still unknown killers and the remaining survivors are able to get the justice they so richly deserve.

Excerpt from LA Times Review:

Minn has done a creditable job recounting the details of this heinous event and probing its haunting aftermath.

Straightforward and deftly assembled, the film mixes archival news clips, actual crime-scene footage and reenactments of the crime itself with a host of candid, highly personal interviews with the massacre’s survivors, the victims’ families and the case’s various investigators.

My Interview with Jon Greenspon

I recently did an online interview for Presidential candidate, Jon Greenspon. He is a member of A Black Conservative Digest (http://bit.ly/ABCD) and so I sent him some questions, I felt were important to conservatives. I will be posting the questions and answers and will do a rebuttal later.

1) Please give a brief statement about yourself, family and why you are running for President in 2012?
I was born in Los Angeles, California in 1964. Wendy, my wife, was born in Sacramento, California in 1973, and our daughter Emerald was born in Colorado in 2003. I am a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where I served as an enlisted member of the 1st Marine Battalion.
I am running for the Republican nomination for the 2012 Presidency because America needs a fresh start. Across our heartland, and into the urban sprawls, we’ve been watching – held captive as it were – to the predispositions of the “professional politicians”, and we can all see where this has led. American interests are not being served; they’re being handed down from on high, as it were. We have not had, in our last four presidents, an individual who truly placed the American citizen foremost – over politics of the day.
I’m running, because when we have a Congress busy behaving like a gaggle of toddlers on the first day of preschool – all fighting over the right to be sitting in the middle of the circle; we need a President who will stand for the “parents”, in this case – the citizens who are the rightful heirs to the decisions – and not be off on a global apology tour.

2) What experience do you have that you will be able to use to turn our country around?

I have served in the military and in private companies enough to understand that the shareholders, in this case the American people need both an advocate and a voice that they aren’t presently receiving in their elected representatives. I know what a deficit is, and that you CANNOT spend your way out.

Experience in life tells me that I am not a master of every subject, however I am smart enough to realize that political appointments cannot be made based upon the amount of contributions you receive from a group or individual. I cannot, in good conscience, consider appointing individuals to cabinet positions based upon anything other than merit – do they actually know the job at hand.

3) You don’t mention very many social issues on your presidential site, where do you stand on abortion and gay marriage?

I have friends that have had abortions, and I do have friends that are homosexual. These are very personal matters, not ones that belong to the general public, unless they the INDIVIDUAL decides to bring them up. In my personal opinion, these matters, if brought out of the house or local community, are best decided at the state level. I firmly believe in the 10

I do not agree with a Defense of Marriage Act (Public Law 104-199), nor do I agree with Roe vs. Wade (Supreme Court Case 410 US 113). The Congress had no authority in the passage of the first, and the States are reserved the right to determine actions within their borders on both counts – by the will of the people.

4) Education in our country is being taken over by liberal social engineers who wish to use the classroom for their social experiments instead of educating our children, what plans do you have to stop this and return the goal of schools to education and not liberal indoctrination?

Simply put, I’ll start by restructuring the Department of Education. My administration’s plan for Education is to see the Federal Department of Education serve as a meeting place for city, state, and community (family-based) understanding – it will cease to be a political indoctrination arm of the White House or any party agenda program.

5) What is the greatest threat you think America is facing today and how are you going to handle it?

That would depend on the determination from whether we are discussing within the US, or from outside.

Our greatest threat from within the United States exists in the social issue of apathy, which American’s are slowly coming out of. We have spent the last couple of decades operating under the “assumption ” that the Government will put itself in some predicament or another, and if we basically just leave it alone, the Government will correct itself. Well, in over four decades, we’ve learned that instead of correcting itself, the Government becomes a small collection of political despots – demonstrating that as power corrupts, we all suffer the consequences.

Outside of the United States, it’s been a waiting game. Since 1990, the world has been watching and casually testing America. The culmination of the prodding and poking at America was on September 11, 2001. Now America is waging an economic, environmental, and social battle of wits with foreign powers – and our current Government is poised to “let the chips fall”, creating a backslide that will damage America in many ways.

6) Do you plan to abolish the IRS and what is your view on the Federal Reserve Bank and whether it should be audited or completely eliminated or both?

I would be more than willing to disband the Internal Revenue Service, since it does not comply with Federal Law. The Constitution grants Congress the authority levy and collect taxes, not an agency of the Department of Treasury. Also, I believe the same statute in the Constitution PROHIBITS the use of outside collection agencies in recovering tax revenues. I also believe that the law should provide a requirement of an absolute two-thirds supermajority in both houses to increase taxes or amend tax codes.

I would expressly demand a full audit of the Federal Reserve System, both by the Treasury Department, and by an outside entity – independent of each other. Similarly, I would require the same of all entities operating under Title 5 of the US Code, governing independent agencies within the Federal Government. After the auditing of these agencies, I believe the American people should be given the opportunity to decide on their continued operation, or their dissolution.

7) Many people want to see Planned Parenthood completely defunded, will you stop taxpayer money from going to Planned Parenthood? And will you overturn the Mexico City that Obama reinstated that sends federal money overseas for abortions?

Planned Parenthood, as well as foreign funding of “family planning,” will never be part of any budget I authorize. I believe the best family planning atmosphere is within the home, not at the whim of the political system. Doctors, priests, and your parents or siblings should help in decisions such as these – not school nurses passing out contraceptives.

8) As a former Marine, I know you take the duty to defend our country seriously, how will you use your military background to ensure our safety here and abroad?

I believe that since one of the primary roles of the Presidency is that of Commander-in-Chief of our Armed Forces, it should be essential that that individual has an understanding of the military from the inside out. As long as we have “boots on the ground” anywhere in the world, I would see it as necessary to be briefed regularly (at least every few days) as to activities.

We cannot safeguard our country if our commander-in-chief is only receiving bi-weekly briefings, waiting to decide major operational changes so they don’t conflict with evening television programming, or pushing aside important meetings with command personnel because they conflict with a photo op.

I believe we need a military, both at the Federal and State levels, well trained in both conventional and non-conventional means of operations, but we also need a State Department trained and staffed with skilled diplomats. America should always look to its military as a last option, but ensure they are trained and equipped for the eventuality. I fully support the utilization of military personnel, in a limited capacity and operating in conjunction with the US Border Patrol, in the enforcement of our borders.

9) What is your view on amnesty for illegal aliens? Do you propose a guest worker program like Bush and how would you secure our borders to eliminate this mass immigration?

I do not agree with any concept of amnesty for persons who violate our country’s borders or laws. Article 1, Section 8 of our Constitution grants Congress the power to set UNIFORM laws of naturalization – not to grant amnesty for violating our immigration laws.

I seriously oppose any form of “guest worker” program, which in effect creates a second-class citizen approach to the labor market. Realistically, we need to finish our Border fence and start providing proper and adequate enforcement measures along our borders.

10) Personhood amendments are on the ballot for states like Nevada, Florida, Colorado and North Dakota to name a few, would you back such amendments and would you work to see a federal Personhood amendment passed?

I would support any such amendment. We are currently gathering signatures in Montana for that very purpose.

11) Fields vs. Palmdale School District is a classic case where parental rights were not respected. How will your administration make sure that parents are in charge of their children and not the state? There is also a Parental Rights amendment in the House with 131 co-sponsors, do you support that amendment?

I believe the best place to decide what’s right for your child is with you, and my Administration would put parent’s rights at the forefront of school decision. To be blunt, a Department of Education is supposed to assist the parents in quality education, not try to supplant the parent with a “social mindset”.

I fully support Jim DeMint’s and Pete Hoekstra’s Joint Resolution.

12) Health care – what are the problems and how can we fix those problems without dismantling the entire health care system?

By creating this “Universal Health Care” initiative, Congress is effectively trying to bankrupt the American people. I fully agree that our healthcare fees need to be brought back into a more reasonable frame of cost – But not at cost of killing our economy.

Realistically, the Federal Government has at its disposal the ability to correct part of the problem. The corrective measures, via the Department of Commerce, exist in that healthcare insurance is an INTERSTATE business, therefore regulated at the Federal level. By regulating the interstate rates, costs could be reduced across the board, providing affordability and portability. I think it would also be prudent to permit individuals to purchase coverage through health exchanges, or even purchase access to their state Medicaid program.

I do not agree in any way with providing medical benefits, other than necessary emergency services to those in our country illegally.

13) Lastly jobs – what are you going to do to create more jobs and severely reduce outsourcing of American jobs to other countries and to illegal aliens right here?

I think one of the greatest measures that could be utilized in creating more domestic jobs, and stemming the outsourcing of labor is a comprehensive overhaul of our bloated tax structure. There is absolutely no reason for individuals to pay upwards of 35% or more in taxes. I believe

in a complete repeal of estate and gift taxes, as taxes have already been paid on these by the original recipient.

Similarly, we should look at reducing corporate taxes on US businesses that are conducting more than 60% of operations within the US. A straightforward reduction would have the net effect of returning business to America, in return for a lower tax rate.

14) Any last thoughts, and tell us why we should vote for you.

As I have indicated on my website, I fully intend that the Congress be accountable to the people, and that includes a zero tolerance policy on markups, or unsustainable legislation. I will not engage in any budget discussions that does not decrease our deficit AND balance itself yearly. And I will not steal elected officials from their citizens by appointing them into Cabinet positions, and away from the responsibilities they were elected to uphold.

I have had two very important “heroes” in my life that have shaped my view of this country. The first was my Grandfather, a Pearl Harbor veteran, who pointed out to me at a young age that the most incredible thing about our liberty is that it’s everyone’s. Only here does someone have the same “soapbox” from John Doe to Bill Gates.

The second person who inspires me is Thomas Jefferson, a man who for all his incredible accomplishments, realized that America’s ultimate power was not in the Office of the President. America’s power lies within the American people. Jefferson demonstrates that with the fact that his position of 2nd President is NOT even reflected on his headstone.

Conservative Student is Not Welcomed in LACC’s ASO

q1592684838_9225Ah the beauty of blogging! If I can’t get anyone else to tell my story then I can always do it myself. So here it goes:

I recently applied for a Senate position with my school’s Associated Student Organization (ASO).  I was called back to interview and I got the run around.  The person who would be conducting the interview was James Butler Zatino. He is the current president of ASO and does wield considerable influence in the process.  After playing phone tag, after trying to track him down I finally get an interview.  The interview goes pretty well, with my nervousness I do fumble a little but I recover overall. He asks me if the position I wanted was not open would I be willing to accept another one. I tell him yes. So I hear back from him and he says,  these are the positions available and for me to pick one.  He tells me to come back later that day at about 1 to let him know what position I picked. I get there and he is not there.  So I leave a message telling him what position I picked.  I run into him later and let him know I want the Senator at large position and that is when it all falls apart.

I am asked straight out, what is my political position? I tell him that I am asologoconservative and he winces as if I actually stabbed him or committed some other violent act against him.  He asks me how to conservative, so I jokingly tell him “I make Rush Limbaugh look like a flaming liberal.”  He then tells me, “Well you are going to have to represent all the students.” I tell him, “I don’t have a problem with that but though I will represent the liberal students I will not tell the conservative students who come to me that I am not going to listen to them or that their voice can’t be heard as well.” Well that doesn’t fly with him.

cornerI was supposed to be appointed the following week. He doesn’t show up and no one can find my paper work so it is going to have to wait until the following week. Then yesterday right before I was to get appointed I get two calls. One tells me appointments are being postponed and then the other telling me they have gone with someone else.

It was then that I went to the Dean of Student Life at Los Angeles City College and filed a complaint.  I am also in the process of talking to http://www.campusreform.org about the situation. I will also be heading to my school paper to let them know what is going on.  This should not be tolerated.

The thing is I don’t have embrace liberal ideology to be able to represent the students as a whole in the Senate.  Just like they don’t have to embrace my conservative ideology.  The thing is that they want a yes man, someone will just go along for the ride and not make any waves. Well they are not going to get that in me. I can represent all students because  I will listen to all students and take the best ideas from them and run with them.  But they just want a liberal parrot.  I wasn’t going to lie or downplay my conservatism. I feel they should know exactly who they are they getting  and if this was a club on campus like the Liberal Lions or some other club that pretty much catered to only liberal minded students then that is one thing. But you can’t say you represent the student population when you clearly do not!

This is not also the first time something like this has happened to me.  I was up for an internship during August. It was a paid internship. I would be helping to recruit students and organizing events. To show my experience in organizing political events-though truth be told they were small-I told them about my work with Silent No More Awareness Campaign and the male professor on the committee who is a political science professor-laid into me. “Well we are pretty far left do you think you could promote our agenda?”  He went from “pretty far left” to “extremely left” to trying to bait me about my abortion views. He was antagonistic and all in pretty obnoxious and I was glad I wouldn’t have to be working with this man. With his hostile attitude I thought they might be staging a coup d’etat or something. The fellow student I would’ve been working with was nice,  friendly and even if he was “extremely left” he had the common decency not to display any such obnoxious and unprofessional behavior! He was definitely a class act which is more than I can say for that professor! I don’t remember his last name but his first name was Zack and I am sorry I didn’t have a chance to work with him, I think we could’ve learned a lot from each other.

Things need to change at LACC and while I don’t think I am entitled to any position, I do think  it is unfair to be offered the position and then have it withdrawn, for no other reason then they don’t like my politics.  Well you know what ASO and Professor Hateful, I don’t like yours either! And if you think you are going to get away with treating students so abominably-you got another think coming!

America’s Eulogy

Doctor pictureWhile I am by no means willing to give up on America! While “doctors” like me known as patriots continue to fight for the life of this nation, while we continue to try to infuse her with life saving blood known as sacrifice and liberty, while we search our “medical books” known as the Constitution and Declaration of Independence, there is still a chance she may die. There is a chance Lady Liberty won’t live to see another generation raised under her guiding light. So as a “doctor” I have to make that long, pitiful, sorrowful walk down to the waiting room, where the “family” known as Americans,  is waiting and tell them, “She might not make it people. You might want to get her affairs in order.”  Should America die this would be my eulogy.

America was actually born July 2, 1776 in Philadelphia, Pennyslyvania. Constitution imagesShe had many a father-George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin and many a mother too-Betsy Ross, Susan B. Anthony, Sojourner Truth and Harriet Tubman. Each of them helping to form her in younger years.  She came into this world, a bloody mess, others laying down their lives so she could live.  She was so highly prized that another “mother”- England- who is commonly known as the motherland, tried to keep her for herself.  However, England lost and had to relinquish custody of her beloved America.

Man_throwing_moneyAmerica grew up and became prosperous in her life.  People adored her. She accomplished much in the name of science, arts, industry and education. Her children known simply as Americans were the smartest, the wealthiest, the most productive and the most God fearing people on the planet.  One of her sons gave us the Bill of Rights-his name was Patrick Henry. One of her daughters would become an astronaut, her name is Mae Jamison. She bled and cried out for the freedom of her Black children and she won that! She believed what Thomas Jefferson wrote in the Declaration of Independence that all men are created equal.  She was unrelenting, she wouldn’t give up until all her children were free.

LiberalsYet the more children she had, the more prosperous they became, the more they forgot their mother.  Then one day, it happened-a great evil befell her.  Liberalism invaded her body. Liberalism is insidious, it gets into the blood of its host and destroys it from the inside out. America didn’t even know how it caught this bug.  Liberalism used America’s love for freedom, truth and justice and corrupted it. Her courts refused to rule by constitutional standards and began politicizing all its decisions. Her Congress once of great moral fiber, began to deteriorate and become incompetent and corrupt.  Her Presidents who would never think of breaching the Constitution would do so before breakfast most days.

medicationsShe tried to fight off the liberalism, but they were strong and were not letting go. Even when given medicine-conservatism-it never lasted long enough to make a difference. Liberalism kept coming back.  It overtook her until every value she held was smashed. They all but eliminated religious liberty,  leaving  just enough churches open to make it seem like we had religious liberty when the truth is, it got muzzled by LBJ. Free speech turned into hate speech and every constitutional protection was whittled away. She watched in horror as her children fought for the right to kill her other children.  It was called abortion though in truth its name is genocide. She became anguished as perverse sexual practices were revered. She felt hopeless as she saw marriage being torn apart.  What was happening? She became confused and pretty soon she didn’t recognize herself at all.  Then on November 4, 2008 she was hit hard. The liberals had secured the Presidency and both Houses.  Even the courts were becoming more liberal.  With the election of Obama, Pelosi leading the House and Sotomayor being confirmed to the Court, the liberals had a tight stranglehold on her.  Though she was able to raise her level of conservatism, it was too late-she was dead.  America though once rich, would leave behind a trillion dollar deficit, illiteracy, government waste and the continued oppression of her people through “government aid” otherwise known as socialism.  She was a great lady, may she rest in peace.
