The Oreo Complex: Why Blacks Are Failing

Before I get into my article, I want to say the following: All Blacks are not failing. There are more Blacks in college than they are in prison, though the Liberal Left would have you think otherwise. The youngest Black female doctor is 23-year-old Ava Roberts.  We had the world’s best neurosurgeon, a Black man, run for the Presidency. Although Mr. Ben Carson didn’t win the nomination he did show the world, you can Black, male and Republican. So this article is not meant to bash the Black community but to illustrate while we do have successes to speak, we also have some overwhelming failures that need addressing.

Oreo cookiesOne of the biggest failures that lead to the destabilization we see in the Black community is the Oreo complex. The Oreo complex, for those who haven’t heard of it, is not the compulsion to eat Oreo cookies addictively, but the opinion found in the Black community that if you better yourself, if you don’t stay in the ghetto, if you get an education (this being the most important factor in the complex) or don’t listen to rap then you are acting White and therefore not really Black.

MichelleAlexander1-620x300

Michelle Alexander

Education is an extremely important part of this complex because people will often talk down college to those who want to attend: They do this by spreading the myth that there are more Black men in prison than they are in colleges. A myth that is spread by authors, like Michelle Alexander in her 2010 book, “The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness” On page 190, it read:  “The impact of the new caste system is most tragically  felt among the young.  In Chicago (as in other cities across the United States) young, Black men are more likely to go to prison than to college:”

CDC picYet that is far being the truth. In fact, ” According to the U.S. Census, about 18,508,926 people in the U.S. population are Black males, of all ages. In 2013, 1,437,363 were enrolled in college, according to the National Center for Educational Statistics.  As of the middle of 2013, there were 219,660 Black males were in local jails, and 526,000 Black males were in state or federal prison, totaling about 745,000 behind bars, according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics’ National Prisoner Statistics Program. So about 13 percent of the entire Black male population is in college. It may not sound impressive, but remember we are only 13 percent of the population and the 18 million is for all Black males, including newborns, 5-year-olds, and 16-year-olds, etc. if we were to exclude of them that number would be much higher. Yet the Left and those with Oreo complex continue to spread the myth as if it were the Gospel Truth.

Thug LifeThe reason for doing so is capitalism at its worst. It is a way to make money while keeping people in poverty. It is a way to legitimize the “Thug Life” and make it seem like you are being punished simply for participating in what should be an acceptable and legal line of work, usually drug dealing. Michelle Alexander spends a lot of the book talking about the War on drugs specifically and not just mass incarceration in general. If you read Michelle’s book you get the feeling most Blacks are or will become criminals within the course of their lifetime. So if this what life is like for Blacks why not simply go out and do it? You are going to be punished for it one way or the other, you might as well have done the crime. Whatever Michelle think she is doing, she is actually laying the groundwork for additional Black people to be incarcerated not less.

clausen-swapI attended a conference at Los Angeles City College where Michelle Alexander was the speaker. I couldn’t stomach much of her speech and ended up leaving but I found quite odd she would go to a college, to talk to a room full of Black people about Blacks not going to college. Strange indeed, that was in 2010 when her book first came out. This past week, though, I went to a seminar on how to get in the UCs. (Universities of California, there about 9 total). They had three speakers and of course, I gave my story in bits and pieces as well. The room was full but still there were less than 100 people in attendance. It was being put on by a Black church, West Angeles Church, one of the largest Black churches in Los Angeles and as happy as I was to see people coming out for this, it saddened me there wasn’t more.

White graduateThere wasn’t more because Blacks don’t see college as an option. While some of it has to do with finance and thinking they cannot afford to go college, a lot more of it is just the general mindset that college is for White folks and I don’t belong there. They feel they don’t belong there because the Michelle Alexanders of the world keep telling them they don’t. But for every Michelle Alexnder, there is a Deacon John H. Wilson, who is telling them that they do. Not only is he telling them, he is also showing them how to do it. He is helping them study for their SATs. He has even invited me to help the adults in his church also go back to school. If we are going to fix this Oreo complex, it is going to be through the efforts of Deacon Wilson and men like him.

Wes Moore

Wes Moore

But it is going to take a lot of Deacon Wilsons to change this historical aversion to education. Education is not only for the non-Black people of the world, it is for the Wes Moores as well. Wes Moore is” a Rhodes Scholar, a decorated veteran, White House fellow and a business leader.” [The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates] In his book, he writes about his life and another Wes Moore that grew up just blocks from him. While he grew up to be the above, the other Wes Moore grew up to be a murderer. Yet while the Oreo people will extol Wes Moore-the murderer, they will run down Wes Moore-the Rhodes Scholar.

Wes paints a compassionate picture of his namesake. Even he wonders how two boys with similar backgrounds and grew up blocks from each other came out on the opposite ends of the spectrum. While compassion is a noble virtue, it becomes a fatal flaw when we use it to paint prison life as heroic and ultimately inevitable. While Wes Moore is careful not to make that mistake, the Black community at large, is not. We are failing because we are not educating ourselves. After hundreds of years fighting for it, after Little Rock Nine and the Board of Education vs. Topeka, after all, the deaths and all the struggles we are throwing it away.

The Oreo complex is not just a cultural thing it is a familial thing, it reaches down to the very core of the Black community-the Black family.”Some of my black besties have had to contend with that themselves–because they DARED to work themselves out of the “ghetto” and get an education and a career!  In some cases, their own relatives treat them like dirt for being “uppity” while still trying to take from them everything they’ve earned.” This quote by Lee Walker demonstrates that whether you are Black or not, that the aversion to education is so apparent that no steps are taken to hide it or downplay it. It is out there for everyone to observe. And observe they do. They observe the devastation that comes from not being educated.

dr-king-praying1My people love to talk about Dr. King but the title doctor is not some cute colloquialism that he called himself. Martin Luther King, Jr had a Ph.D. so why don’t they talk about that? Do you love Beloved by Toni Morrison? Well, Toni has her bachelor’s from Howard University and she also taught there! Can’t get enough of Mos Def? Well, he graduated from NYU! Then there are people like Deva, a Black 18-year-old girl with Down Syndrome, who is graduating high school WITH HONORS!!! You can beat there are no Oreos in Deva’s family. The truth is we can do this. We can become the great people we once were. We only need to educate ourselves.

My Interview With God: Gay Marriage

Today on a very special Blacknright blog we have God, the Supreme Ruler of the Universe, here with us today. He has agreed to talk my audience about the current events in our country. So let’s get to it.

GodDL:  Hello God, it is wonderful to have you here today. I am so excited about this interview. How many people get to interview God? So what do you want me to call you, God, I Am, Yahweh, Elohim, Heavenly Father?

God: Heavenly Father will be fine. That is what you usually call me anyway, I like it. Thank you for this opportunity to talk to your readers.

DL: So my first question, before we deep into the gay marriage part of this interview, let’s start with the basics? Do you hate gay people?

Gay married couple enjoying wedding receptionHF: (laughing) Of course, Dena. I have an irrational hatred of gay people. Of course, I don’t hate them. They are my children why would I hate them? Yes, I love gay people, but I hate sin.

DL: Okay, sin. Are some sins greater than others?

HF: Yes and no. Yes, if you kill someone I am going to hold you more accountable than if you were just jealous of them. Both are sins and both are commandments but in one you have taken a life, in the other you haven’t. However, the second one can lead to the first one, that is why it is on the list. The no part is all sin has a destructive force to destroy the person. If you are coveting, you can become consumed and act in destructive ways towards yourself and whomever or whatever you are coveting. One thing leads to the other and that is why you can’t play with sin.

DL: Okay, so let’s move on. Gay marriage. As long as two people love each other that is all that matters right?

HF: If that was the case Leviticus 18 would be a moot point. Seventeen of the thou shall not lie with are familial relationships. Now I am sure those family members love each other. I still don’t approve. In fact, though shall not lie with mankind as with womankind is the twentieth one, There are two others that deal with incestuous homosexual behavior but by and large, I outline what heterosexual behavior, whatever that really means, I find offensive.

DL: In the others, you use the words wicked and detestable but with homosexuality you say it is an abomination, why the difference?

JeffHF: Because it is not in accordance to how I created you. The other offenses as repulsive as they are, are a man lying with a woman. While they are wicked and sinful in their nature, a man was meant to lie with a woman in order multiply. He was not meant to sleep with his mother or his daughter or his sister. Those things are detestable. Homosexuality is not about the commandment of being fruitful and multiplying. It is using sex for purposes that are contrary to the Plan of Salvation. I made sex feel good so it would create a bond between husband and wife, it would make you want to stay together and raise your family together. I created Oxytocin to promote family ties, not to get your rocks off.

DL (laughing) I love when you talk like that. But if two men are committed to being together what is wrong with that? I mean if the purpose of marriage is staying together and they are being faithful to each other, what is wrong with that?

old-new-testament_bxp255612HF: I love when you mortals do that, you take the last part of what I said and ignore everything else. Again if staying together was all that mattered then a son could marry his mother and as long as they stayed together and were faithful I would be okay with it. Heck, as long they had a kid or two and raised it together I would be fine, right? Okay, let’s go back to Genesis 2:22-25:

22 And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And Adam said This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman because she was taken out of Man.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

If the composition of marriage was irrelevant would I have clearly stated its composition? The purpose is not solely for the happiness of the adults in the marriage. The purpose of marriage is to create a happy, stable environment for the family. In verse 24, I say they say they shall become one flesh. That is not so much a sexual reference as it is describing the family unit. They are one. They are no longer completely separate entities; they are one. When your parents were married, you were the Leichnitzes. You were one. Yes, there were individual Leichnitzes within the family, but to the world you were one unit, you were the Leichnitzes. That is what marriage does, it unifies. Dad is no more important than Mom, Mom is no more important than the kids and the kids are no more important than the parents. Each one provides a unique role and each one is dependent on the other members for their ultimate happiness. Without a Mom, Dad and children, an essential part of that unit degrades and it will deteriorate until there is nothing left That is the point in which you guys find yourselves at.

DL: Come on God, I mean we have free will right? Aren’t we free to do whatever we want as  long as it makes us happy?

HF: Sure you are. You are not free of the consequences though. You are free to rob liquor stores all day long, the jailconsequence of that is you will go to jail. You are free to rape and murder the consequence is that you will have to answer to me. I am even bound by certain things. For instance, if you keep your end of the bargain and follow my commandments I bound to reward you for that. Even if I was like, “Yeah, I know Dena is doing what she is supposed to but I don’t feel like blessing her.” I can’t because I am bound by the promise that as long as you do your part, I have to do mine. What would be the consequence if I didn’t? I would be a liar and since God can’t lie, I couldn’t be God. I would be a fraud. So there are consequences even for me. There certain things even I have to obey because if I don’t I am not who I say I am. And since I am who I say I am then I have to obey.  So if there are consequences for me, why would there not be consequences for my creations?

DL: So what is the consequences of gay marriage?

SCOTUSHF: Let’s look at what happened immediately following SCOTUS’ decision. You had people threatening churches. You had pastors getting beaten up. You had outright hostility to the people who actually helped them get this passed. You saw an eruption of lewd, gay pride parades. You saw evil come out in full force and within a matter of days. Satan works fast. What you will see as time goes on is an increase in immortality and more hostility towards me and my followers. You will see the destruction of children, the denigration of women and more blatant displays of wickedness.

DL: It sounds like you are saying gays are the reason for the downfall of society.

HF: No, my people are. You guys have been cowards. You have been so afraid of not offending anyone, you have offended me. My anger is kindled against my people because they do not listen. You have Israel being bombed pretty much on a daily basis and yet you have certain Jews who vilify my Holy Land. I do not understand that. You are not of my people, I do not know you. Is Israel perfect? No, and I will deal with her sins. But when you turn your back on Israel you turn your back on me. Then you have abortion. My children are being slaughtered and you dare have groups called Catholics For Choice? Abortion is the resurrection of Molech which I have clearly condemned and you dare use my son to justify your sin? Gay marriage is  just one in a long line of the impotency of the Church, you guys have failed. You are here because you refuse to act. And you Dena, you have to get over your fear as well. You are powerful,l but you refuse to use it. I am going to work with you on that and I am going to put you in a  place where you can use it. No more hiding.

prayerDL: Okay I promise we will figure it out. I love you and thank you for talking to us today. Any further questions for God can be asked via prayer.

HF: Thank you for having me here and I hope I wasn’t too scary.

DL:  Nah, you are a big ol’ pussycat. Say hi to Heavenly Mother and Jesus for me.

HF: I will talk to you later.

Medical Marijuana Ordinance To Be Passed in Los Angeles

Ah don’t you love it when potheads get vocal? There are already activists waiting to sue the city for enacting an ordinance that will tightly regulate the medical marijuana dispensaries that have popped up since California legalized medical marijuana.  Though I will admit I am confused, considering marijuana-medical or not-is still an illegal drug under federal law I don’t know how we are able to have any sort of marijuana dispensary at all, even with the 10th amendment granting state sovereignty. After all, it does say state laws can’t contradict federal laws. That aside, Los Angeles decided it was time to crack down on the growing number of dispensaries.

Medical Marijuana Ordinance passes in Los Angeles

Ed Reyes-LA City Councilmember

Ed Reyes of the 1st district of Los Angeles is the one who brought the plan forth to more strictly regulate the medical marijuana dispensaries. It is amazing how liberals are always for regulation as long as they don’t have to be regulated.  They don’t want accountability for abortion clinics, medical marijuana dispensaries or anything that involves sex workers (aka whores) or needle exchange  programs  but if I want to put up a Nativity scene on my own property at Christmas time-well that needs to be regulated!

Bernard Parks-LA City Councilmember

Now I am not fool enough to believe that Ed Reyes is a conservative Republican but  he is taking on an unpopular cause and that says something about him.  The people who have opposed the bill according the Los Angeles Time article by John Hoeffel are Bernard Parks, Jan Perry and Bill Rosendahl.  According to Hoeffel they voted against the ordinance both times.

With the ordinance set to pass the activists are getting ready to sue, but the Council is prepared for that according to the Times article Reyes is reported as saying:

We tried to interpret the state law for the way it was written,” he said.  The law will not take effect until the City Council approves the fees that dispensaries will have to pay to cover the cost of registration, a process that could take at least another 30 days, according to city officials.

I don’t think the City has a whole lot to worry about,  I am sure all the activists will be too high and too busy munching on Cheetos and Reese’s peanut butter cups to make any of the appointed court dates should it get to that point.  And you have just got to love this line from the same article:

“The smoke should clear six months from the effective date of the ordinance,” she [Special Assistant City Atty. Jane Usher] said.

An interesting choice of words indeed. LOL  Many landlords will have to find new places to set up shop, they cannot within a 1,000 yards of schools, libraries or residential homes or other “sensitive places.”  They also can’t turn a profit (so why have a dispensary in the first place?) and there are other restrictions on the dispensaries as well.  They think that a third of them will have to shut down but that has some groups very happy.

Many neighborhoods complain of crime associated with the dispensaries and don’t want them in their neighborhoods.  So it will be interesting to see where this goes, though I know who I am rooting for and it is not the weed dealers. It is good to see that these people are fighting back and taking back their communities! God bless you and keep up the good fight!

Obama To Lift Restrictions on Embryonic Stem Cell Research

Nothing this man does surprises me. In fact, for me to be surprised he would have to act in the best interest of the American people and not his twisted ideology.  In his world, embryos just abound all by themselves. In the real world, you need to put women in danger to make this “science” work.  Let’s put aside that you are killing a human life to make this so call science work.  Let’s put aside all the moral qualms one has about killing embryos and what that means.  How do you produce embryos? You produce them by knocking women up-hello! Why is there not more outrage from the women’s organizations?  This is no more than using women as chattel!

What do you need to make an embryo? A woman’s egg! That means you give women dangerous drugs to stimulate her ovaries, so they will produce more than the customary one egg.  You then go inside a woman and in an invasive procedure extract the eggs mix them with sperm (which is a whole lot easier to get and doesn’t require any surgery, just a porn mag and a hand!) and then only then do you have an embryo! In fact, there are not even enough women of child-bearing age on the entire planet to even make embryonic stem cell research a possibility to cure any disease! So why do we keep pursuing it! Obama says he will be guided by science not ideology.  Well, if that is the truth why isn’t he pursuing adult stem cells which come from the person themselves and have worked successfully in over 70 therapies  and treatments already?  Why? Because he cares nothing about science and is guided by his thirst for power.

Adult stem cells can even mimic embryonic stem cells without the cancer that embryonic stem cells cause. That’s right, not only do you have to put women in danger and kill a human being but embryonic stem cells have proved cancerous in the therapies used.  To further elaborate on the dangers embryonic stem cell research causes to women, when women have undergone voluntary in vitro fertilization to have their own children the following side effects have been reported:

1) kidney failure

2) enlarged ovaries

3) blood clots

4) death

Of course, if you go to any IVF site they won’t tell you about the deaths from Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS)  and will simply tell you about the nausea and bloating.  What they also don’t tell you that unlike men who make sperm their entire lives women are born with a fixed number of eggs.  “A woman is born with her entire life supply of eggs, approximately 1-2 million. At the time of her first menstrual period, the number of eggs has diminished to 300,000-400,000. Each cycle, hundreds of eggs undergo stimulation and usually only one is released during ovulation; the others are reabsorbed and are not functional.”

http://www.infertilityspecialist.com/age_infertility-trolice.html

So just getting our period means we have already lost hundred of eggs and you want to take more from us? For what? For a child we won’t even get to hold?  So you can kill it and kill the person who will receive these treatments?  All this is about money, not science! It is barbaric and feminists who are telling the government to stay out of their wombs need to be doing in this case because in this case everyonoe loses! Only the mad scientists and hateful ideologues like Obama win! OBAMA-STAY OUT OF MY WOMB!!!!

Jett Died of a Seizure

jett-and-johnAs reported on the third Jett Travolta, 16 year old son of John Travolta, died. They weren’t sure if it was a head trauma or from the history of seizures that he had but it has been confirmed by an autopsy that he died of a seizure. You might be surprised how many people are completely ignorant of what a seizure is. Being an expert of 38 years, I have decided to give you the 411. And bust some myths in the process.

First what a seizure is. A seizure is an overload of the brain sending out too many messages to various parts of the body at the same time. Therefore everytime you have a seizure you lose brain cells. Seizures are serious but can be controlled with medication called anticonvulsants.

What seizures are not-they are not a sign of retardation. Epileptics have normal intelligence and a few range higher than average in terms of intelligence. A seizure is a physical ailment, no different than heart disease or asthma. I know the stigma of seizures and epilepsy. For in high school, I was put in special ed even though I didn’t need it in order for the school to get additional money for me. Most epileptics can lead pretty normal lives and if they didn’t tell you they were epileptic you wouldn’t know. [I will be using the term epileptics to describes all groups of people who suffer from chronic seizure whether they have been diagnosed as that or with some other disease that also suffer from seizures. Jett had Kawasaki Syndrome, which I am unfamiliar. However, I am familiar with seizures and epilepsy and so to make it easier I will just refer his case under the general heading of “epilepsy.” ]

Next these are things not to do when someone has a seizure:

1) Stick a spoon in their mouth. There is an old wives tale that says they will swallow their tongue if you don’t. YOU CANNOT SWALLOW YOUR OWN TONGUE!!!! I have bitten the crap out of my tongue to the point where it hurt to even eat but I have never bitten it off and I have never swallowed my tongue. If I hear of you putting a spoon in someone’s mouth while they are seizing, I will hunt you down and force a spoon in yours and see how you like it. You can actually injure someone by doing that! DON’T EVER PUT A SPOON IN SOMEONE’S MOUTH WHEN THEY ARE SEIZING……EVER!!!!! I hope that is clear enough.

2) Hold them down while they are seizing. You can move things that will injure them out of the way, you can loosen tight clothing but don’t ever hold them down. This can also cause injury. Let the seizure take its course, you do more damage by trying to stop it then you do by simply letting the person be.

What to do:

1) Time the seizure. Most seizures are a minute or less. If it starts going over two minutes, you need to be calling 911. Two minutes is a long time for your brain to be frying itself. Of course, if you see someone out in public having a seizure, you call 911 regardless and then stay by that person and time the seizure. So you can tell the paramedics how long it lasted when they get there. [I met the nicest paramedic the last time I seized, cute too. He was even Mormon. If my brain wasn’t half fried then I would’ve gotten his number. LOL. But who wants to go out with a woman who spends time flailing around like a dead fish? Oh well such is life.]

2) Loosen their clothing. Okay this is no time for you to turn into a perv and start stripping the person. Loosen clothing means you unbutton the top button to make sure they have enough air. Remove anything that might be on their face like glasses. Other than that you don’t need to do much else. You don’t try to move the person if there is an object in their way but try to move the object out of their way.

3) When the person awakes, you ask question to see about their cognitive abilities. Ask their name, address, who is the president, things like that. If they say Bush they might be in denial about Barack so don’t hold it against them. You check for any lacerations and take care of those after they come out. Make sure they take their meds (because if they are like me, they probably haven’t taken it in a while) and allow them to rest. They are liable to be in a lot of pain afterwards, so let them recover.

The different type of seizures:

I will be using the names I knew growing up, they have since changed them all but I am not learning a bunch of new names when the old ones do just fine.

Grand mal-that is the kind where your entire body is seizing. You arms, legs, your eggs roll back in your head and they are rigid, jerky movements. These are the kind most people think of when they think of seizure.

Petit mal-this is basically a staring spell. You can be talking, stop in mid sentence, stare off for a few seconds and then pick up where you left off and if no one tells you, you won’t even know you had a seizure. They are very brief in nature and many a times people mistake it for inattention or daydreaming when it is not.

Psychomotor seizure-this is a rather frightening one. Because you can actually walk and be somewhat vocal during this one. It is a more “violent” one though the violence is unintentional. But the person will walk with their arms swinging, having no control over them. Their walking is also not controlled. The best thing to do is make sure they are not going bump into anything if you can without getting hit and if you are out in public and it happens make sure no one tries to take them down. Explain it is a seizure and just to give them some room. More than one epileptic has been taken down and arrested for suspicion of drugs because of this type of seizure.

Status epilepticus-this is one continuous seizure. You go in and you come out then you go back in again. A status epilepticus is the most fatal of seizure and typically a drug addict is more likely to die from this than an epileptic. John Belushi died from a status epiletpticus. As a baby I was constantly seizing. However, I did stop in between the first one and the next one so it wasn’t a status epilepticus. With a status epilepticus you don’t regain consciousness in between. The longer the seizure is, the more likely you are seeing a status epilepticus, which is why it is important to time them.

There is also the Jacksonian seizure, but I don’t know much about that one. In any case, this is a rough review of seizures and what to do and what not to do. I hope this helps. God bless you Jett, you are now free from it all!

The Swiss Legalize Heroin

The Swiss have voted over the weekend to legalize heroin. As a former heroin baby (my birth mother was an addict, and I doubt she stopped on account of little ol’ me.) I find the whole idea repulsive and inhumane. In the United States we have methadone clinics, these clinics are to help heroin addicts get off heroin. The clinics like the ones in Switzerland are to help addicts stay on. I don’t have a problem with methadone clinics because they truly provide treatment. It is about trying to help the addict reclaim their life. I do have a problem though with liberals saying, “Oh they are always going to be addicts so let’s not help them, let’s just give them what they want. It is easier for us that way.” This is the dangerousness of liberalism. It doesn’t solve problems, it just creates new ones. It doesn’t look for the cause and only offers band-aid solutions to all of life’s problems. Of course the liberals sing the praises of this program. Here is the article:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/eu_switzerland_heroin_vote;_ylt=Aj_BK_gY7eqVsLcJaGRXUmXWn414

In this article it talks about how the health of the addict has improved ( I know how about getting them off heroin altogether, that would really improve their health! We are not talking about medicine here people, we are talking about heroin!) Crime has dropped (yeah no stats are provided just crime has dropped. And not even which crimes if any have dropped.) And people are all so happy (yeah nothing like having a bunch of heroin addicts coming into your residential/business neighborhood at least a few times a day. They really spruce the place up!)

Here is an excerpt from one article that talks about one addicts experience:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7755664.stm

“My kids just know that Dad is sick and has to take medicine every day, that’s all.” (Oh great so now he is lying to his kids on a daily basis. That is a great way to build a healthy relationship!)

And Dr Buerki shares the view that long term addicts like Jan are actually ill, and need to be treated as such. “These are patients with a chronic, relapsing disease that might go with them for the rest of their lives,” he says. (So basically doc you are just giving up on these people! Thank God, you are not an oncologist! Well you have cancer, you could have it for the rest of your life so I am just going to speed your death along but doing absolutely nothing to help you!)

You may say, Dena who are you to judge these people? Well, while I have never did drugs or alcohol, I have fought my own addictions. One far more deadly than heroin could ever be. But I didn’t give up and I didn’t succumb. Because I had my son I fought back. I didn’t simply lie to my son and continue to do my addiction. I knew if I kept going the way I was I was going to die. But I had people in my 12 step groups to see me through. And now I have two years and four months away from what drove me to those rooms to begin with. So I don’t want to hear about sickness and chronic relapsing. That is a cop out! If I can come out the other end, so can other people. And we are not doing them any favors by giving up on them. It is disgusting that the Swiss care so little about these people that they are willing to facilitate their own destruction.

You got to listen to this garbage by this liberal “health official” and I use that term loosely.

It would be more shocking if we just let them die,” counters Maria Chiara Saraceni, a drugs policy expert with the Swiss federal health department. (And you don’t think giving them heroin is just letting them die? Wow! Are there any synapses firing in your brain Ms. Saraceni?) “It’s the government’s responsibility to help everyone, and not to judge them. (Since when? And how is this helping them?) “If this is what they need to live a more stable life, and to get off the streets, then that is what we should offer.” (Okay so if I was some homeless lunatic who thought killing kittens would help me be more stable, relieve stress whatever, would you supply me with an endless supply of kittens? After all, it is not the government’s place to judge me.)

As long as people continue to look for the easy solution instead of the right solution we are going to continue to go downhill.
