As the special election for Ted Kennedy is coming to a close and as it looks like Republican Senator, Scott Brown is going to win, there is a sense of doom that is starting to permeate the Democratic leadership. Democrats are the oldest political party and maybe that is part of the problem, they have outlived their usefulness.
Democrats have not been paying attention to what is going on in our nation. When they won the Presidency, House and Senate in 2008, they thought they were sitting pretty and could do no wrong, what they didn’t count on was the growing discontent among many of the voters who intensely disliked Obama and everything he stood for and were far more crazy about Palin then they ever were about McCain. They figured the discontented rabble would just go away, instead we got stronger. Depsite the threats of Homeland Security that placed former vets and anti-abortion protesters as “enemy combatants” and despite the mocking of the Tea Parties by the media, we grew. Now here is only a year after Obama’s inaugration and the tide has vastly shifted. And so the back-stabbing and finger pointing is already beginning and the election is not even over.
And in private conversations, Hill sources say White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel has blamed Coakley, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and Democratic pollster Celinda Lake for failing to see Brown’s surge in time to stop it.
“With the legislative and political stakes so high, it’s unbelievable that the Senate committee and White House let this race get so out of hand,” said one senior Washington Democrat. “There’s a lot of blame to go around. Martha Coakley is only one of the problems here.”
As you can see the blame game is already starting and Obama is not immune from it. According to that same article, he is blamed for not selling the message more. However, as a failed telemarketer I can tell you, you cannot sell what people don’t want. And what the American people don’t want is more spending, more debt, more failed social policies, more Democratic rule. Liberal policies have been an abysmal failure and to assume the people are going to continue to vote for the same unchecked failure is utterly insane. Should Scott Brown win, he will hold significant power because his vote alone could stall many of the Democrats’ schemes. The Democrats need 60 seats to blow through any legislation, with Scott in place they will be short one vote. That is as long as he continues to vote as a conservative and not some RINO pawn.
So stay tuned, this is sure to be an interesting ride and might mark the day when the Democratic party imploded and became part of our American past like the Federalists and the Whigs before them. Though I wouldn’t count them out just yet, but maybe this is a wake up call to the Democratic party that you are not as strong as you think and conservatives of any stripe or political affiliation are a force to be reckoned with.
There is a special election in California on May 19, 2009! Make sure you get out and vote. Most of the propositions on the ballot deal with budgetary issues. One issue that is on the ballot is 1F. It says the Legislature forgoes pay raises in the year that there is a budget deficit. I think that is only logical. If everyone else is hurting they shouldn’t be getting raises on the backs of their constituents. The only person who turned in a con to that measure is a guy named Pete Stahl of Pete Rates the Propositions.
This is the kind of nonsense he is spewing (makes me wonder if he is getting some kind of kickback from the Legislature to oppose it) How is this for horse manure?
“Regardless of party members of the Legislature are deeply caring, diligent, patriotic people who truly love the communities they represent and serve.”
Oh give me break! Most politicians are sneaky, greedy, backstabbing people! That is why they get into politics! Once in a blue moon, a Sarah Palin comes along but for the most part we are dealing with weasels-not noble statesmen!
Then there is this gem: “Freezing salaries will not loosen politicians commitment to their ideologies. You cannot get conservative legislators to support tax increases just by threatening to cancel their raises. Similarly liberal legislators will never agree to cuts in social programs just to increase their pay!”
What planet is this man on? Of course people will do whatever they can to get more money! How many times have our “conservative” politicians failed us just because it served them to do so? They weren’t thinking about us, they were thinking about re-election or how they will be perceived but certainly not their ideologies. Eddie Murphy’s “Distinguished Gentlemen” showed how easy it is to play both sides of the field. The lobbyist throw money at the politicians left and right (pardon the pun) , so if you want to come down in favor of gun control-you have special interest on that side that will pay you. If you want to come down in favor the second amendment-well there are plenty of groups that will pay you to vote for their side. So don’t insult our intelligence by telling us that money will not affect how a politician votes-of course it does!
Lastly there is this inane statement: The current salary for nearly all legislators is $116,208. In most of California that is solidly middle class compensation!
No it is not! Middle class means the median income and the median income is not $116,208! It is more like $49,500 and that is not nationally but IN CALIFORNIA!!! Just the Facts (this was taken from a website detailing the state of women in California, however the last statistic was for all sources of income, excluding wife’s earnings. When you add the wife’s earning the median income is $70,000-still a far cry from 116, 208 dollars!) What California is this guy living in that he thinks the average citizen is pulling down six figures? The middle class is quickly evaporating in this country but especially in California. There is no solidly middle class in California. There is poor and rich! And the gap keeps getting wider. Remember the middle class support both the poor and rich. The poor through social programs and the rich through their labors. You can only stretch the middle class so far before they unable to sustain it anymore and the whole economic situation goes to pot!
Stahl-just another cuckoo!
No wonder this guy stands alone in his defense of giving legislators more money even their constituents are hurting financially, he is a veritable loon! Only someone with limited mental facilities could deliver such hogwash and believe it to be so. The Propositions we will be voting on during this special election are: 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E, and 1F
There is a fervor surrounding Obama’s birth. According to several news outlets the Supreme Court will not be reviewing cases brought forth by two voters to legitimize Obama’s birth certificate. I see we have the legitimacy to elect him, just not the legitimacy to question his qualifications in the first place. How ridiculous is that notion?
However, Alan Keyes, who was on the ballot in California is also suing Obama to produce his birth certificate in order to make sure he is eligible to serve out his presidency. Obama of course is calling the whole thing-garbage. It is a typical liberal response, you don’t ever answer the question directly but try to deflect it back on your enemies. The Constitution is of course not garbage. But it is not surprising that he thinks it is. After all this is the same man that called it a flawed document. I have trouble with a president who will be sworn in and asked to uphold it, calling it a flawed document. But then again if it is not ” The Audacity of Hope” or “The Dreams of my Father”-then any written document is flawed including the Bible.
Now according to his deceased grandmother, she was there at Obama’s birth….in Kenya!!! He was a citizen of Indonesia and now he wants to claim citizenship of America. Well the Constitution is quite clear on this, not born here-can’t be the President. My sister was born in West Germany, she can’t be President either. (And even with all her liberal leanings she would still make a better President than Obama.) Me, I was born in San Francisco and I got the birth certificate to prove it! In fact, I am thinking about running for President in 2012. So I am working on it now. I will switch back and forth between religions, build up my arsenal of terrorist friends, dodge anything that has to do my past (No, I never ran around with decapitated doll heads! You’re just racist!) and then talk about change all the while spouting the same liberal garbage politicians have been talking about for forty years. I will be a cinch to win.
The crazy thing is all Obama has to do in this case, to make it all go away is produce a valid birth certificate! We are not asking him to split the atom for crying out loud, just don’t give us fraudulent documents to establish your nationality-is that really so hard? Alan Keyes with the United States Justice Foundation has filed suits in California and as of the 4th of December will be filing suits in Mississippi.
It is amazing what we are letting this guy get away with. Now he doesn’t even have to follow the Constitution. I will be discussing the other Obama scandals in the upcoming week, but everyday is a new scandal with this man it is hard to keep up. In the meantime, pony up the Birth Certificate Obama!
However you look at it this Election Day is going to be one for the history books. We are either going to elect the first female Vice President in Sarah Palin-God willing. Or we are going to elect the first Black president-God help us if we do. Either way history is made. There is much riding on this election. God-ordained marriage is on the chopping block to be replaced with genderless, numberless marriage. People talk about Mormons and polygamy but if it comes back it won’t be because of the Mormon Church who has put every cent behind Proposition 8 and standing for one man, one woman marriage-it will be because gay marriage ripped the institution to shreds and allowed bigamy, polygamy, polyandry and all other forms of counterfeit marriage to take hold. All those who voted no on Prop. 8 will only have themselves to blame.
The scariest part of this election is Obama himself. He has refused to release his birth certificate to verify that he is indeed a natural born citizen. He has hidden his aunt who is in this country illegally and gets welfare benefits. She has a millionnaire nephew and instead of taking care of his aunt she is on welfare-how sweet of him! She has even used her benefits to give money to his campaign. How sleazy is that? He talks about spreading the wealth-hey Obama, how about spreading your own wealth to your half brother in Africa and your welfare aunt here! Not since Kennedy has there been such a massive cover-up of a presidential hopeful. Kennedy was so beloved that any negative portrayal of him was always buried by the media. Much like Obama today. Whether it was Kennedy’s ill health (he had back trouble) or his ties to the mob, Kennedy always came out smelling like a flower. Kennedy used the power of the presidency to spy on Dr. King-a private citizen. Not much different than digging into the background of “Joe the Plumber” for having the audacity to question Obama. The two candidates are eerily similar. The difference is should a modern version of the Cuban Missile Crisis land at Obama’s feet, we are all dead. Joe Biden has already warned us about that.
Should Obama win, should marriage lose in all 3 states [California, Florida and Arizona], should parents lose the right to be notified of their daughter’s abortion, should the Personhood Amendment fail in Colorado, we will be propelled into a socialist society. Obama has called the Constitution of our United States-”a flawed document.” To me that is the rhetoric of a man looking to overthrow the present government and replace it with a dictatorship. Maya Angelou once said, “When someone shows you who they are-believe them.” We are not believing Obama. He has shown us his true colors but being the master orator he has been able to talk his way out of every perilous situation he has found himself in. It is time we stop and ponder-who this man is, where he came, what his record reflects and stop looking at his skin color as some kind of “free pass” from scrutiny. We are electing a President not the next American Idol. This is not about popularity, but truly life and death. A ballot for Obama is a vote for the Culture of Death and for a man who sees his own grandchild as “punishment,” has voted in favor of infanticide four times, turned his back on his own family, well such a man is capable of anything. Do you really want to find out what that is? I know I don’t!
If it wasn’t enough that Barack has ties to ACORN who has been caught and is now being investigated for voter fraud, he is now decided to do it on his own. He has this video up at his site:
In it Barack encourages everyone to take the day off from work and school and get out to vote. He also encourages people to make calls, knock on doors and get out the vote. There are many problems with this messages as it encourages potential voter fraud-how so?
1) It is illegal for employers to prevent an employee from voting. Therefore there is no need to take the day off-it is already the law that employers make sure that the employees have enough time in their schedule to go vote. It is not about voting anyway, it is about campaigning for Barack! Employers do not have to give you time off to campaign for a candidate. Let’s take it to the logical conclusion-what if everyone did as Barack said and just took the day off. What happens if the police decided to come down with “blue flu” on Nov 4 so they could campaign for Barack-what happens to the public safety!? What if every doctor, nurse and orderly decided to also take the day off-who will take care of the sick and injured? Basically public safety, commerce and your own livelihood is not as important to Barack as getting him in office! How selfish is that?
2) It is illegal to do any electioneering within one hundred feet of a polling place which means knocking on doors in many areas is illegal. It is where I live, I live within one hundred feet of a polling place which means if any Barack volunteers come a knocking I will be on the phone to the police, media and whomever else I can get to listen for Barack’s campaign actively breaking election laws!
3) The polls are open from 7am until about 8 or 9pm at night. Therefore, there is no reason for people to take the day off work because the polls are open long enough for people to vote before work, after work or during their lunch hour. The same with those in school. There is no reason for them to talk to their professor, why should a scheduled test or other assignment be put off so you can campaign for Barack? Some classes only meet once a week, so if you miss that class you are losing a lot of material covered. Why should professors have repeat material for you? You could’ve voted before class or after it. There is no legitimate reason to rearrange anyone’s schedule for Election Day. The polls are open early enough and close late enough that everyone can have the opportunity to vote if they want! In fact, those in California already get an additional one to three hours of voting just based on our time zone. When polls across the country are already closed California and the rest of the West Coast are still voting!
4) Next, the video says you can’t make history from your couch. Ever hear of absentee ballots! You vote right from your own home. What about all those absentee ballots for Barack, they are not making history I guess. The absentee ballot gets treated like the stepchild of the election process. However, those who vote absentee want to make sure their vote is going to count. They should be applauded not treated like second class voters. It goes on to say you can’t make history from your cubicle. Again that is the arrogance of Obama saying your job is not nearly as important than getting him elected. Your education is not nearly as important as getting him elected. That is truly disgraceful.
5) Lastly, something Barack obviously didn’ think of the poll workers are workers too. Should they take the day off too? Then how are you going to vote? The whole message is rife with self-interest, not the interest of the American people. How about those who are barely making ends meet and cannot afford to take the day off, should they take it off anyway and risk losing rent money to do so? The whole things smacks of elitism. You should be willing to sacrifice your family, your income, whatever it takes because I am worth it. Yes, people should vote on Election Day, this is the most important election we have ever had. Yes, people need time off for work to vote, but not the whole day. I have never heard any other candidate ever say skip work and vote for me instead. Obama obviously doesn’t care who he hurts and it is time we took him down a peg. So yes get out and vote on November 4th. Just don’t vote for Barack because if he doesn’t care for you before the election he is not going to care for you after it.
My church (the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) is taking a stand and urging all its California members to vote for Proposition 8. Proposition 8 simply states that only a marriage between a man and a woman will be recognized and valid in California. This is a constitutional amendment and therefore will not be subject to the whims of the leftist judges in this state.
Why do we need Proposition 8? Because marriage is an institution that protects women and children. Statistics bare out that women who are married suffer less domestic violence then those who are practicing cohabitation. Men are more likely to protect and look after their wives then they are the woman they are “shacking up” with. Children also fare better in a two parent home. Remember this is coming from a single parent. I know how tough it is. There are times when I am stressed out and need a break that I wish I could turn to someone and go, “You take him for a couple hours, I am out of here!” I can’t though. I have to keep going even when I want to break down. Breaking down is not an option for me.
The gay lobby wants to use my single parenthood in their quest to extort rights that belong to neither gays nor straights! They will say, “There are all kinds of families. There are kids in single parent homes, kids being raised by their grandparents or other extended family members, adopted kids, none of these children are being raised by both biological parents and they fare just fine.” Kids in single parent homes don’t fare just fine though. That is the point. Yes, some do. Some grow up and become productive citizens but others because Mom is busy working two jobs to make ends meet end up raising themselves and come out anything but fine.
My sister helps me take care of my son when she can but at this point it is me and him. He misses my sister. We had a talk just today of how unfair all this is to him. I told him that when I was a kid my parents divorced and that I wanted them to be together. I just wanted to be a family again. Kids are very selfish-as they should be at this point in their life, they will have to think about others soon enough in their life, childhood is a time to think about yourself-and don’t care about the issues of the parents. They don’t care whether or not you are happy with the other person anymore, all they know is they want their family together. There is no a child in the world that “celebrates” diversity.
I was adopted at nine months old. I loved my adopted parents. But I didn’t love not looking like them. I didn’t love being different from everyone else in my family. I didn’t love this “diversity.” I loved my Mom she was wonderful but it wasn’t fair-Laura and Leonard got to look like her why couldn’t I? Even my adopted brother Jeff could pass for one of her “own.” I never could. I just wanted to be the same! My deep love and appreciation for this wonderful group of people I call family would come as I aged. As a kid, I remember running in the house excitedly saying, “I’m turning White! I’m turning White!” when I saw the whitish under layer of my skin one day. Don’t let the social engineers lie to you. No kid ever thought being different was a good thing. All kids want to belong and part of belonging is looking like those in your family. Sure any kid can accept such differences in time-I did. Sure they can even embrace it in time as a positive thing and even cherish the uniqueness of their family-but that comes with adult maturity. As a kid you just pray for the day you will turn White so you can look like the people you love the most.
We must remember that marriage is an institution devised to protect children. Children are central to marriage. Just because some couples will be unable to have children, just because some people go into marriage not even wanting children does not mean the purpose marriage changes because of them. The purpose of a car is to drive you to where you want to go. It’s purpose is not to have the transmission blow up, or for your tires to get a flat. While those things happen, the true purpose of a car does not. The same is true with marriage, while people have bad marriages, while people don’t have children we don’t base the concept of marriage on these people. It would be like saying because I have epilepsy the purpose of the human brain is to have seizures. It most certainly is not! We must base public policy about marriage on sound principles, not on the catastrophes that sometimes encompass marriage. Most married couples will at some point in their marriage have children. No married gay couple ever will because they are physically unable to fulfill that basic requirement of marriage. Any child brought into a gay union will have an absent third party parent. Whether it is a surrogate mother who gets kicked to the curb after delivery of the baby or a sperm donor who will never know a baby exists at all, there is always an outside participant. However, in a heterosexual marriage there is no outside participant, it is just the man and the woman making a child. Even when the heterosexual couple uses IVF most of the time it is still the husband’s sperm and the wife’s eggs. While the doctor may help them along, there is no third party in the conception process. No unknown mother or father. Even if a heterosexual married couple did surrogacy, the mother is still represented within the family unit. When two gay men do surrogacy, the woman will never be represented in the family unit and is made to feel insignificant even though without her there would be no child.
Marriage is not about the adults involved. It is not about whether two adults love each other. If that is the case why can’t an adult son marry his mother? They love each other. They are both adults. Why can’t they marry? Why can’t people on welfare marry? Actually, you want to get more people off the welfare rolls-have them get married. That to me is far more oppressive and downright discriminatory than anything gays have or will ever face. I had a civil union when I was 23 because I couldn’t get legally wed to the man I loved. We were both on SSI and actually getting married meant losing half our income. We were already living hand to mouth, we couldn’t afford a 50% drop in income. However, because you know it is not legal, you don’t treat it as real and as such we broke up four years later. I was a woman, he was a man. We were both of legal age. We were both capable of having children. Yet we were being forbidden to marry. No one should have to choose between their income and marriage but we did! Gays never had the right to marry so they are not losing anything. But the minute you get on welfare, you lose your right to marry. It is beyond contemptible when marriage can be the one thing that pulls both the woman and child out of poverty, instead they want both of them to remain in it.
I could go on forever but I will end by simply stating marriage between a man and a woman is a holy, sacred institution that shall not be mocked. To do so brings chaos, confusion and destruction upon us all. God help us if we refuse to stand up to the bullies who want to decimate marriage. God help us all.
